Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

I am still very happy with our current league position as we enter into the second half of the season,we usually played catch ups this time round in the past.
We didn't really play well in many league games so far,but looking at the bright side, without CL distractions,we can only start to play better from now onwards & hope to see El-Nino back on the pitch soon.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Cannot complain too much since Liverpool aren't in this type of situation for so long liao, but they still can do much better in my own opinion.
Lets hope that tonite Zola's West Ham will do us a favour by drawing wif Chelsea.

You are quite right bro, a lot about our title challenge will depend on Torres staying fit second half of the season.

And we also need to get results against Arse, Bolton and Barcodes next before El Nino is back.

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

i can't understand why benitez would want to bring on zahar, lucas or babel in on a one for one switch in midfield...wouldn't bringing on another striker like Keane at least help to stretch the defense a bit?

and i still cannot understand why the obsession with Liverpool to attack from the wings even when they have the ball in the final quarter right smack in the center ...you will find the players passing the ball all the way to the wingers and letting them pump the ball in back into the goalmouth and hoping to catch a header...shit why don't they just attempt to break open the defense with one touch football something which they were really good at in the 70s, and 80s...

all these lost points at home is going to cost them the title this year and things don't look good heading into the holiday season...that a total of 8 points lost a home...Stoke, Fulham, West Ham and now Hull...

we rested many key players in mid wk ECL hence i expected Pool to gear up n perform well agt Hull last nite. yes, we have a fresh captain Stevie who single handedly bailed us out again. but d same cannot be said for d other key players who didnt perform to expectations.

impt thing now is tt, even if we lose d leadership in d coming wks, we gotta make sure we dun lose too much ground agt d leader.

Rafa seems to have some hidden agenda agt Keano huh? sooner or later, if he kena benched too often, he may juz become very tu lan n look for greener pastures. i tot he'll come on as sub in d last 20 mins or so to try win d game. our prob this season agt d lower teams is still finding players capable enuff to unlock d opposing defence. we cant expect Stevie G to b doin tt too often. Benayoun, Kuyt, Babel n Riera tried very hard but too bad they r juz nt gd enuff. seems like Torres is our best hope. rembr how well he linked up with Gerrard when he started. seems to have some telepathy betn them. hopefully we'll do better by time he comes bk in Jan (expected). it's still nt too late as long as we r still in d title race.

benitez lost his balls already. 1 point better than the possibility of a loss. thus, he rather give up his win and do one for one switches... where did benitez leave his balls, i wonder??? didnt he take out the fullbacks and put in extra wingers against man city and wigan???

but then again, hull is a very physical team. keane would not be of much help as i have never seen keane respond well to physical sides.

u r asking too much of the present pool team. the 70s and 80s were filled with players who r proud to play for liverpool. nowadays, football is a job. all i see is liverpool players jumping out of tackles to protect themselves. can u imagine souness or mcmahon doing that then???

Quote:

it is their own fault that they dropped those points. last nite, it was obvious that the high tempo was not suited for hull's defenders. hull's weakness was exposed during liverpool's fight back in the 1st half. while these guys can dish out physical tackles, they were unable to receive them. the ugly-looking leftback who scored hull's 1st goal got gerrard's shoulder and he was then substituted. he was the weakest link, in fact. another 5 minutes and he would have been sent off.

liverpool would have won the game if they had kept up with their fightback tempo all the time or a rampaging and destructive mascherano. but then, after getting the equalizer, liverpool went back to its slow tempo game and hull crept back into the game. mascherano was almost non-existent... is he afraid of getting yellow cards now that he is argentina's captain? who to blame???

end of the day, liverpool still cannot get rid of its problems and it is not about beating the big teams. it is its inability to translate its superiority into goals against the smaller teams.

should have let Keane played yesterday.
at least he will create chances for others.
cost so much, why let him sit on the bench.

Very disappointed with the game and their inability to win it.
Don't know why Rafa likes to play Lucas and Babel, they are very ineffective at this moment.
Why can't he play Keane or even Ngog?
They could cause some chaos to the Hull defence....
Haiz...We need Torres back ASAP...
Look like hisotry repeating itself again...
Pool got no one to blame but themselves....

I don't think not putting Keane on was a mistake bro. Maybe my opinion of him has dropped too much but we needed a goal in the last 15 mins and Keane is not likely to give us one based on his record so far. Bringing on Babel and El Zhar was to stretch the game, allow Stevie to make runs into the box. Granted it didn't work but that's due more to the players than the tactics.

Thing is, Scum and Arse both dropped points last night. Maybe Chelsea won't but this season is a difficult one for the top 4. Of course at the end of the day we got to take care of ourselves and not wait for the others to do us a favour.

Performance wise, the Hull game, higher tempo in the first half, was a step up from the flat games against Fulham and West Ham. Anyone disagree?

He's been costing Liverpool to drop too many points with his mistakes and he's the slowest full back in the BPL

Re: Liverpool Fc Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

we got off again.
Chelsea drew 1-1 at home with West Ham.
Man Utd drew 0-0 with Tottenham
Arsenal drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough.

but we cannot always depend on others, help to buck-up and concentrate fully on the EPL.

next week against Arsenal,if we can get something from there,it will be good.
