I was just at Nanjing Dong Lu, walking along Ren Ming Guang Chang yesterday and there was a guy touting for business..
I must say he is super persistence, keep talking to me as I walk along for at least 15 mins... I keep saying i am not interested, not keen...

Since you are near to People's Park, you can try Ala House (Shun Chang Road near to Xin Tian Di), or Shanghai Hotel (Wulumuqi Road, near to Hua Shan Hospital) which were mentioned before. Or you can try the branch of YPH, located at Song Shan Road (嵩山) next to HK Plaza, Shanghai Palace (上海皇宫), price should be the same as YPH @ RMB600 as recommended by Lao-Jiu. Ask for Manager Wei (魏), according to him, there are 2 packages, menu A and B. May be you can find out the differences and give us a FR here.

For hidden charges, I prefer to let it remain hidden, bcos normally you need extra money to find out the hidden charges.

Bear in mind all 3 stores are managed by the same mgmt group but they diversify their marketing for each of these stores for different tastes and crowds. Da Tang Yu Jin is intended to cater more to Taiwanese men in Shanghai. The facility is very clean and the service is good.

This same mgmt group also has a store in PuDong LuJiaZui area. But I no longer have the contact information there.

I also wanted to add some comments about the GoldStar KTV Pinocchio Gentlemen's Club. The lineup of girls differs greatly based on who you ask for as your papasan or mamasan. I usually go through Susan and have had decent success getting very tall, long legged girls (my preference). Her phone # is:

Just to the left of GoldStar/Pinocchio is a KTV that caters to Japanese people. Pinocchio is in a little plaza with 4 stores. Pinocchio is the right most store, there are 2 restaurants in the middle and the left most store front with Japanese characters and signs is the Japanese KTV. The prices are much cheaper. The take home price here can be negotiated down to 600RMB. The drinks are cheaper as well. In order to compete with GoldStar, they too have adopted the top less dance. THe funniest thing is that they even use the same music GoldStar used 6 months ago. GoldStar has since changed outfits (purple tops instead of pink tops) and performance songs. The girls here tend to be of the cuter variety and I've had a great time there everytime.

I've had good luck with KTV places that cater to Japanese. They are cheaper than the ones that cater to other types of foreigners and cleaner than the ones that cater to the locals. There is another JP KTV right next to the New Harbour Hotel in Huang Pu district. The lineup is not as good as the other JP KTV place but the "happy hour" experience is very interesting! ALl the girls in the room leave and a different girl comes in dressed as an Arabian enchantress. She starts dancing, stripping down, and basically gives every guy in the room a lapdance. It is free if you are with a party of more than 4 guys. If not, there is a small fee (200RMB). Very fun experience. Prices here are cheap. Take home can be negotiated for 600-800RMB. Here's the info:

I reckon on a sunday you can go anytime, but it would be the best to go in the afternoon as it might not be that crowded but being a sunday, I reckon there won't be much people at night as well as they have to work the next day. It's only my assumption as I never been to one on a sunday before and I would normally go in the afternoon to avoid crowd and more selection of girls.
BTW some HC do provide good coffee, but maybe not latte.
