Actually, its very common for RMB and Ringgit to rise during the chinese new year. As we have numerous 'foreign talent' here going back to hometown. Should come back down abit after this festive season. But if not changing a big amount like more than SGD$5k, the different is not very significant.

Keep the updates coming.

OT abit to Bro Tony Stark. Are you serious to go 4 places (HK/MFM/ZH/SZ) in 4days only? Abit rush isn't it?

depends on people's pay is based on whcih currency right? mine is always in RMB.. so..now i will only wish RMB appreciate against SGD...

Anyway, what i usually do.. if i have colleagues flying over, i ask them to change with me.. based on normal money changer rates... so whenever they ask me what is the rate.... it always boil down to..

Yes due to my work schedule I touch upon those places like doing shuttle run. Within one day I can be in Macau > HK > SZ. Cheong overnight in SZ then head back to HK again.

4.55 in chinatown. i got 4.555 as i change 24k so the boss give me this rate.
Still very heart pain compare to 5.0 exchange rate few months ago.

With the current recession will your daily cheong budget of S$500-600 in PRC remains the same?

Nowadays I very poor can only afford RMB150 BBS bonks in SZ and RMB210 sauna (90min/Unlimited shots) in ZH.

PS: I'm in ZH shaking leg now. Maybe later go into Macau play "Tiger Machine".
