Subang Jaya disco still operating despite 25 raids
Report from The STAR dated Thursday 2 February 2006 :-
Subang Jaya disco still operating despite 25 raids KUALA LUMPUR : Police are puzzled as to why a discotheque in the Summit Shopping Centre in Subang Jaya is still operating despite being raided more than 25 times. Subang Jaya CID Chief of Operations ASP Mohamed Zainal Zakaria said the Subang Jaya police team had raided the disco 10 times last year while Selangor and Bukit Aman police had raided it 15 times. He said among the offences committed was operating beyond the stipulated hours. It operates between 7pm and 7am, when the time allowed for entertainment outlets in Selangor to open is only until 1am, he said. He said though police had sent a report to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council, no action was taken to seal the premises. ASP Mohamed Zainal said during a four-hour operation, which began at 4.30am at the disco yesterday, urine tests were conducted on 64 people and 16 of them, aged between 18 and 40, tested positive for drug abuse. Bernama ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I think the reason the disco is still operating because certain influential people are being paid ' duit kopi ' by the Boss of the disco |

MPSJ seals disco raided 25 times
Report from The STAR dated Friday 3 February 2006 :-
MPSJ seals disco raided 25 times BY Dharmender Singh SUBANG JAYA: THE discotheque in the Summit Shopping Centre in Subang Jaya which had been raided more than 25 times has finally been sealed by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ). Council President Datuk Mohd Arif Abdul Rahman said the council had decided to take action against the outlet at the beginning of the year when it failed to close despite several notices sent out to them. We have known about the activities of the outlet and on the advise of the police we sent out a notice to the outlet in 2004 asking the owners to close it down for flouting licensing and entertainment outlets regulations, he said. In December of the same year, he said, the council once again visited the outlet when it found out that it was still in operations. He said the council issued a notice asking the discotheque to close and followed this up with another notice in March last year. Mohd Arif was speaking to reporters after overseeing the operation to seal the place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The MPSJ was ' forced ' to finally seal the Disco as this matter was aired over TV3 a few times and the 'lobang' had been 'pecah' |
