I like to get a local micro SIM card for my mobile phone on my next visit.

Any recommendations and how to get it? Also is there a package plan that includes data usage?

You have 2 good options.

One is the 299b (or issit 399b?) offer from the thai telcos. Offer only at airport and free internet 3g, calls and text for 7 days

Other is to buy a sim card at 7-11 or family mart. Then top it up immeditely with 300B and call the telco to activate 3g.

Correct me if wrong or there are better options,

BAngkok airport got a counter for telco TRUE..
Sim card is 49bht or free but u need to top up.. there is a package cost 299bht for 7 days data.1GB

Just go telco stand at airport. For unlimited 450 valid 1 month, can top up next visit or give to next chiongster

Got cheaper option, daily thing. Minus hassle

I dont take that option coz i want to keep my number for multiple visits. Also the queue at the airport for both ais and true is so dam long! After a few months away , i just want to get back to breath the pattaya air , not wait in line somemore!

That damn queue at the telcos counter is always lined up with stupid people. I've heard questions like 'can i check emails after i activated the 3g?' or 'can i call my country after i top up?' Instead of 5 or 10mins per person , everyone therre is like 24hrs! At least it feels that way la!

My next trip will activate this plan *777*984# only 213 bahts for 30 days. 900mb, as my previous usage was only 700mb. The guy at airport counter advised me to... if not enough, just key again...
