The second sentence is also wrong. It should be 'There is no grammar police here intent on hunting down each and every error.' Police is an uncountable noun. You can count the number of policemen but you can't count 'police'.

There is nothing wrong with your sentence. However, based on the way I wrote the script, I viewed [errors in the use of advise/advice] as a single entity.... hence the the use of the singular "error".

As for "police"... I'm a bit confused too. Most books/articles I have read treat "police" as a group rather than a non countable entity... The sentence..."The police ARE looking for the offender" is used extensively. However, when it comes to the term "army", the sentence.. "the army IS on the move" is most appropriate.

Anyway.....I am only concerned with one issue.. the use of ADVICE/ADVISE.

When I was a student, the girl I was after go into the arms of my richer and ah-beng classmate. The reason being I'm not rich, stylo-milo, good looking enough. The vicious cycle never ends there, I was hurted over and over again for various reasons, e.g. the girl had a better choice, I'm boring and only good enough to be a husband rather than bf, I'm not well-off enough etc. The most ultimate one happened recently when the girl chose a married man over me. I feel like shit every single day. I wonder what are going on in the girls minds. Are they sick? Or do they have really poor judgement?

I have since vowed to work up the coporate ladder one day so that those who deemed me as 'not-good-enough', 'Mr. 2nd choice' will have the kind of feeling of losing a treasure. Relationship to me is no longer my top priority, rather I have shift it to 4th or 5th position.

Take every failure as an opportunity to rebound. Just like one of the favourite line in Batman Returns:
"Why do we fall?"
"So that we can learn to pick ourselves up"

appearance? bad skin? see a dermatologist. bad teeth? see an orthodonist. bad body? hire a personal trainer or see a plastic surgeon.

poor speaking skills? go for a drama course or hire a speech therapist

the idea here is to improve urself in areas that can be improved....so it increases ur chances with women next time
