Not the punishment. The cost of living and prices of houses is high only in big city. In country side, quite cheap. Cars got high price because of the impoted tax + the luxury tax + the VAT (value added tax), this is the way government use to protect the domestic cars industry (but I dont think this kind of industry exists ).

Compare to SG, everything here is quite cheap. House is expensive if it face the street (mat tien) because u can do business with ur house (open store, rent away...). Apartment rooms r not prefered here.

With the average salary, u can buy a house far from city center about 10~15km. A house at District 1 is the dream of many people, including me And dont dream about Dong Khoi st, Le Loi st or Nguyen Hue blv, those houses r all owned by the communist who in the army of Northern in the past

Goverment insist on using Northern accent, same to China government insists on using Beijing accent lah! But Beijing accent quite hard to hear, r r r all the ways! My tongue will fall out of mouth if I must talk in that style!

In Northern, Hanoi accent n Hai Phong accent is quite easy to hear. The other provinces, eck! Dont talk about the Central. When communicate with the Central, I'm deaf!

About Chinese has 5 tones, I wont argue anymore. It's the fact. Thank bro lovesprout say it loudly for me.

Northern people pronounce d, gi, r = j no difference.
Their tongue must be very long

In the past, when English just coming to Vietnam. Northern sometime said jes instead of yes But I dont know how it is today.

True, nowadays a lot of the southern gals use j,j,j,j randomly. I learn my VN through the net thus got sometime do have problems in understanding their short forms. After a few times SMS and asking, I do understand more. In vn I do understand, in one SMS, they used a lot of short form.

Me also find it very hard to understand VN languages. I still learning every day. I will find books, website and others ways to learn more on southern Vn rather than Northern.

depends on how big a cup you make with it la, but still way better than any singapore ones. i know where to get in singapore but its insanely expensive loh
