Have you seen what we Singaporean/Malaysian guys are competing against? The China guys? We are not as crude, rude, rough, MCP. Do you think a typical Singaporean girl will marry a typical China guy? Reverse analysis... Do you think a typical China girl will marry a typical Singapore guy then?

I really think China girls like how we do consider their opinions before coming to decisions and how we place our family amongst our top priorities. If you are a China girl and you are marrying into a foreign land, there're few places better than Singapore. They won't get that lost even if they can't speak English when they move around on their own. Chinese is still the majority race here. The country's safe from crime and the rules are clear (no bribes required). And China isn't a hostile country to us (unlike if they move to Taiwan).

Do try to speak the people (real professionals like university lecturers) from China who had settled here and ask for their views. You'll be quite surprised by what they say. Some Singaporeans feel that the President, Prime Minister etc are overpaid. They feel that with the PAP in control, PAP can ammend rules to increase their own pay anytime. The China Chinese feel that the PAP can pay themselves whatever they want, it's fine. Why? Because things work in Singapore. They ask me back 'Have you seen China?' The officials are corrupt and take the country's funds in hidden manners. No one knows how much they are over-paid. And nothing works in the country. I listen with astonishment really... But I'll still vote for opposition party!

Glad to see at least there is a positive comment for marrying a China Bride but your friend is lucky in a sense that he married a rich 2nd generation gal fm a rich family whilst all those who give negative feedbacks/experiences here are from the commoners/layman. Perhaps hope to have some brothers who married the commoners could shared their views on the positive sides,even though it may be a very very small percentage. We have too much negatives views.

You will be surprised at the number of FLs coming here to work when their hubby/bfs are not working back in mainland and gamble/drinking daily . They are not telling me their stories trying to milk me but juz sharing with me during some of the makan sessions . You heard of wife working on the farms while hubby go gamble ?? Wife cooking dinner after planting field while hubby sit there read newspaper ? Wife get wallop after doing all those things when dinner is served late ??

Divorce rate shd be on the raise there now that china women are more independent and seen the world . They are slowly evolving into metropolitan thinking after they had seen the world and share their findings with their counterparts back home . I personally know a few who are divorcing or had already divorced their hubby .

They view us sg guys as good hearted but not ambitious and not willing to take risks and easy to control/manipulate .

Of coz these are my own views but you can ask the new generations of PRC gals studying here or working for theirs .

i have known quite a numbers of friends with PRC/Thai/VN wife as i used to from an eniviroment that have a large number of low educated male worker with specialize skill. so they are actually earning about 2.5-3K plus which is quite high consider most of them are below O level.

most of them is happily married with average 2kids. personally i know of a few familes and still maintain in contact.

there are some rumour i heard about 1 worker that his PRC wife use to earn extra before married to him. seen he is quite happy with children now. except he is having problem getting PR for his wife.

overall, i have know more people with success marriage with non-local wife then failure personally but not just selectively hearing from people or reading somewhere.

i visit a numbers of families and most of them the wife is working while the husband either 泡网 or 喝老爸茶 the whole day. their aging parents is still taking care or providing them when they are well into 30s.

Most of the people I know - be it friends, colleagues, relatives etc have blissful marriages to foreign brides and things turned ugly when their spouses, esp PRC, got PR successfully.

With PR, come with divorce, demand 50% CPF/HDB etc before hooking up another richer man.

Brother, seems like SG brothers some of them marry PRC, Viet, Thai, Pino, Malaysian, Indonesian, African etc. by default. Isn't it better to work on oneself and marry a local SG?
