Thailand: average income say THB 8000 / mth = THB 96,000 / yr = SGD 4800 for one night of fun.

China: average income say RMB 1500 / mth = RMB 18,000 / yr = SGD 3600 for one night of fun.

Vietnam: average income say USD 200 / mth = USD 2400 / yr = SGD 3600 for one night of fun.

Philippines: average income say PHP 8000 / mth = PHP 96,000 / yr = SGD 3200 for one night of fun.

Indonesia: average income say IDR 1.5 juta / mth = IDR 18.0 / yr = SGD 3000 for one night of fun.

So, according to your theory Indonesia gives the most bang for the buck. Unless of course, you go to Laos/Cambodia/Myanmar.

chked out jetstar, fare at 265, plus exit airport charge usd10, nett abt 285 ...

any idea how much for a night stay in yangon?? food wise??

and the J.J u mentioned, is it in yangon?

is it safe to travel there alone? a bit worry, since it's a military governed country ...

I made the trip to Yangon about half a year ago and overall experience of my first visit to Myanmar was good. All local people I met were very friendly and in facts I felt they are very genuine and receptive to tourists, more so than my experience in Bangkok, Hatyai, Hanoi and Jakarta.

I visited some disco and nightclub and brought different lady to my hotel room every night without any issue. Yes it is safe. Food is cheap. Hotel may be slightly overprice.

I realise I couldn't see the real Myanmar by just staying in Yangon alone. Nevertheless I was glad in taking the trip.

At least I know it's definitely not 1.5 juta average. JKT maybe (I do know of JKT workers get 800-900k a month also and it's superisory role somemore).

1 juta average is nearer I guess, unless you are counting JKT alone.

onli 250k?! we also saw some wif 250k but look really cannot make it one lei ... some even quote higher, like 400k ... mine was SYT wif solid boob n real service oriented ... good GFE ... anyway, had learnt d lesson ... thx ...

Bro, I agree with Bro Coolmanks but IMHO, I think 1 month of their salary for our 1 night of fun would be more apropriate.

lol... unless gone are the days with the villas, I dun think people will wanna go Balai if prices are higher than Batam..

Then again... choices are theirs..

Batam easily can find with 300k for LT (can get SYT sometimes if you look in the right place) even with Taxi, so ST for 320k is really on the high side. Not talking bout model looks and Thai-like services though..

I paid 350k for ST in JKT b4 only, not in Riau.. hehe

English proficiency in Myanmar is analogous to the neighbor countries. In my solo 3Day/4Night trip, 2 girls spoke no English, 1 spoke a little and 1 good English.

I hired a tour guide with private car to show me around in daytime, costing US$6-7 per hour ( cannot remember exactly ). I also wandered around some local streets myself in the afternoon. I was not looking for MP or massage and I did not notice any. Nevertheless I am not sure about the massage thing there.

Its nt strange actually. Laos & Cambodia R oso the same, even the most fast fwd Vitenam 2.

These countries do nt hav a solid monetary legislative system tat confer 2 international standard yet, thus their curriencies R nt recongised internationally. Instead, foreign trade R conduct in USD (international dollar) while the govt req. all spending within their countries 2 be in local curriencies. Hwevr, most ppl R unwilling 2 do so due 2,
i) relative small value in relative 2 USD (eg. KIP$12,000 = USD$1)
ii) Unstable rate due 2 inflation & govt (abused of) policies

I had been to both Myanmar and Cambodia (lived and worked)...IMHO, the best is still to have enough USD then to worry about having the local currencies. This is due to the extremely high fluctuation of the local currencies.

The exchange can be USD 1 = 4100 Riels in the morning and then just a couple of hrs later, it becomes 3800 Riels.

When buying things, as both countries do not have US coins, they'll give ya the changes in the local currencies. Hence you can use it as small money to tip the local or round up a sale.

However, in Myanmar, there's this policy of foreigners can only bring into the country USD2000 each time. You can bring more but like anything ya do...Just dun get caught.

No joke to be found out, all money confiscated and then being thrown into the local jail. That you dun it coz it happened to one of my Taiwan business partner who bring a few Ks more coz he wanna buy the famous Burma Red Ruby and jade. We had to pull quite a number of strings to get him outta the cell.

Generally, the people are pretty friendly there...Very easy to get around, though Taxi is kinda ex...Charge around USD4-5/hr. Heaps of old Comfort Cabs there...Sent it from Sin after we dun want it.

One other thing...Your mobile can't work in Myanmar. Damn!!!
