If you marry a foreign, non-PR woman and house her in a resale HDB, can she still take the HDB? Foreigners cannot own HDB flats right?

They cannot own, but they entitle to at least 50% of the share. So you need to sell your hdb, and give her that 50%

It's the same case for PR woman. Usually after divorce, if you cannot come up with the cash to pay her 50% of the flat, you still need to sell, get the money and give her, right?

Best part to them is that, they get cash for 50%, while you still need to pay some of it to CPF

if it's bought AFTER marriage, of course wife can claim 50%, right?

of course lawyers know the common responses, but usually each side lawyer will tell client they got high chance of winning. Then both fight and lawyer know they earn more when things drag and drag

Interesting stuff. So the longer it drags, the more the lawyers make. Best solution appears to be to have an amicable split so as to not drag it further or fight it out on who should have what and get what.

From my understanding is that for the husband's side it does not matter whether the property is acquired before or after the marriage. When the man enters into a marriage, he brings to the marriage everything that he owns.

For the woman, what she owns before the marriage remains her sole property and only those property acquired after her marriage are considered as matrimonial property.

This is how the frigging womens charter interprets the law.
