There's tons of hotel within your budget - best you just check Ctrip yourself as that's what I usually do too first.

If I got plenty of time, I'd even just walk in and try to get a better deal - which is not uncommon around this area as there are just so many hotels with occupancy rates bouncing sharply up and down; all depends on what exhibition or whatever happens to be taking place around!

Luohu, Dongmen etc area all teeming with all sorts/grades of restaurants - and of course action (albeit nowadays on more stealth mode) plus the subway system is quite efficient and you can get to anywhere pretty quick.

Good luck and enjoy yourself - just keep safe as Shenzhen can be quite unsafe - especially regarding street crimes like pick-pocketing etc.

hey guys, need some help here. me and my friend were mistaken that the visa in china was 30 days instead of 15 and we overstayed. we entered on the 5th of april and is still there now. we have also booked a flight to fly on the 5th of may. any ideas of whats the best and worst case scenarios for us?

Just wanto let bros here know that almost ALL the towel boys in SZ massage centers or SPA work without a basis salary. In fact they have to pay the joints
management for their uniform and some monthly admin fee.

Their only income are tips from the customers.
All the Hkeys and the China customers knows this and they tip them.

Hope foreign customers understand their pay system and do likewise be generous to them

You guys better be prepared to grovel and pay rmb 500 per day to a maximum of 10k (recently raised from 5k).

If you overstay your visa, two things will happen, one is you will have to explain why many times (they assume you do not respect them and that is why you overstay, so better to give a reason that shows lots of "respect"). Once the interview and paperwork is done, you will be fined an amount determined by them (500 Rmb per day overstayed), plus given a written warning stating "one more time and you will be out of China permanently. This warning is good for two years. Depending on severity of violation and your attitude while interviewed, you may even be deported and denied further visas to enter China.

if you overstay one or 2 days and give a valid reasons, a written warning will
be given and no fine imposed
once my flight from beijing to shenzhen was delayed 12 hours due to snow
i reached shenzhen huanggang border crossing later by one day,the officer brought me to the office, a written warning was given, i was required to sign
on it, no fine was imposed, i exited shenzhen, crossed into hong kong,12 hours later i crossed back into shenzhen
advice for all bros here PLAN YOUR VISA RUN EARLY
or else go to the exit-entry department and apply for an extension one week
before hand, do not wait till last minute
heavy fine,jail and deportation are all the likely penalities for overstaying
for the deportation the spore embassy will not pay for your flight home
they will ask your family to remit money to pay the airfare
the china exit and entry office also will not pay for your deportation back to
spore
from what i know, if you cannot raise the money for airfare
the china side will keep you in police custody until your family remit the airfare funds
for those who overstay in china more than one month, usually the persons
will be banned from entering china for up to 5 years max
all those info i learn from the officer who gave me the written warning
