Saunas in sz are dead places now, even hj also not easy to get. Alot of saunas are converting to foot massage and traditional massage. Prices are dropping to a mere 28rmb for foot massage and 48 for a massage but still not many takers. It's just not worth the risk to be present in a place when raids to take place. Also, at these prices, the syts are not going to paid enough to make it worth their while.

If your sole intention to head over to Guangdong is mongering, I would think you'd be crazy to do it now. It's just playing with fire. The consequences are just not worth it.

LOL - actually... The exact quantity of cigarets one can legally bring in to Hong Kong is 19 sticks!! That's right, it's gotta be an open pack with 19 or less ciggies! These humourless bureaucrats!

And another thing - duty free shop at Shenzhen bay is only for those going TO hongkong - no duty free store from Hkg to china. Go figure - when the allowable amount into hkg is only 19 sticks and most people buy liquor to go INTO china as there's so much fake booze there.

The duty free amount of cigarets into china for foreigners is 2 cartons, 1 carton for Chinese nationals.

Another Q, how much to pay for the cig tax at the Chinese custom for a carton of cigs?? Paiseh I not smoker yet gotta bring tat Chunghwa 5000 cig from spore DFS for my client. He say here sell vvv cheap!! knn @ $68 still cheap?? tink Marlboro at DFS only $20??

I noticed many China men purchased 4 cartons of cig at Changi DFS. Not sure if that's the legal limit. You can check with the sales person at DFS.

As for cig tax. I remember once a China client told me she paid 100HK for the exact carton when found at the Louhu checkpoint. I never asked her what was the legal limit then.

Yes, you really want to avoid Hong Kong customs. I hear that there are varying amounts of duty and penalties imposed on different types of travelers, but universally such amounts are very high.

Maybe stash your cigarets into two separate luggage and hopefully they will only discover one stash which is within the allowable limit. Also, fiddle with your passport as you go near Prc customs as I've noticed that in most cases, passport holders just get waved through as opposed to Prc nationals. Reverse national/racial profiling against their own!! LOL

Yes, there definitely is profiling done. I have gone through HK customs more than a hundred times and not even stopped once.

Stranger still would be in Shenzhen. Was stopped and when I produced my passport, they let me through without checking. Legally 19 sticks into Hk and 2 cartons into china but I have gone through china customs with 4-6 cartons in a clear DFS bag on some occasions.
