Just FYI, this La Thanh Hotel mainly serves locals only and will turn away foreigners, at least that is what they do to me initially 6 years ago. The other risk is that if they dun know you, they could send an alligator to massage for you instead of a SYT.

150 arrested in raid on Hanoi Sheraton bar

Hanoi police Friday raided the Nutz bar inside the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel and arrested nearly 150 people, 72 of whom later tested positive for drugs.

According to police, two of the suspects, 33-year-old Le Thi Hong Yen, and 43-year-old Doan Thi Dung were found to be carrying five tablets which police believe are illegal narcotics.

During the raid, police also confiscated 40 suspicious tablets and four packets of cigarettes that allegedly contained cocaine.

Tuoi Tre quoted Nguyen Anh Tuan, chief of the Ministry of Public Security’s department of drug crime investigation, as saying that those who tested positive for drugs would be handed over to the authorities in their hometowns for re-education.

Meanwhile, those who were suspected of trading and possessing drugs would be investigated and punished, he said.

According to Tuoi Tre, the drug users were between 19 and 40 years old. One of them just graduated from the Hanoi Law University.

In a previous raid on the bar, Hanoi police arrested a handful of suspected users, according to the article.

The investigation remains underway.
