Rubin Kazan followed up their shock victory against Barcelona a fortnight ago with a defensive masterclass to leapfrog their Catalan opponents in Champions League Group F ahead of the evening game between Dynamo Kiev and Inter Milan.

Although Barca dominated possession tonight they produced few clear-cut chances as the Russian champions produced a perfect defensive display and they could even have taken all three points had Alexander Bukharov taken his chances after being introduced as a substitute with a little under half an hour remaining.

Barca really play beautiful attacking football...even when Busquets was sent off...Barca still continued to attack...fm the Inter Milan n El Classico matches it looks like Barca r still the best in Europe...however it wld be interesting to see how they deal wif a 'new' Chelsea under Carlo...

Thierry Henry, on the day FIFA announced they had opened proceedings against him for his infamous handball, helped Barcelona open up a five-point lead at the top of the Primera Division with a solid 2-0 victory over bottom club Xerez.

Pep Guardiola's side showed off the six trophies they had won in 2009 prior to this game, in what was intended to be an evening of celebration for the Catalan club in their first match of the year. And they looked to be on their way when Pedro, who scored in all six of those competitions, opened the scoring after just seven minutes.

But the Yellow Submarine failed to read the script and David Fuster levelled for the visitors within six minutes of the restart.
