Praying hard is 1 thing, taking practical / realistic action to to make money / grow wealth is another. If praying hard alone without taking other actions, it\'s just like praying hard to strike lottery!

Doing business in SG, unless u are in the league with Lee Dynasty, or u are foreigner where u get to enjoy foreign investor / talent policies, u will not be taken care of.

Every other day, if u read news from foreign news media via the Internet, there\'s real bad news / announcements. Comments / opinions such as \"the worst ever economic crisis since The Great Depression\", \"it\'s gonna be worse this year\", \"the worst has yet to come / be seen\", etc etc. And yet, these news has largely been \"hidden\" or played down. In Pappy\'s speeches, they only acknowledged the economy is in recession, the Gahmen will work hard to deal with it, Gahmen will help the in distress, etc etc. Do they echo those \"extreme\" views / comments to the general public, asking them to be mentally prepared for worse situations?

And then there\'s still propaganda about although it\'s recession, people are still splurging on cosmetics, luxury cars, shopping, etc etc. Trying to tell people, it\'s not so bad, SGPeans are still able to afford the luxuries despite the recession?

Anyway, I really hope the recession will hit really hard to teach the spoilt brats a good lesson, to learn to appreciate things, to bring down their arrogance. And then, it\'s more of a matter of who\'s survival skills are stronger, who\'s will-power / determinations is stronger, he will survive & likely excel. Not those spoilt brats born with a silver spoon. I have been waiting for a real hard-hitting recession for several years

Andyk => Think U read that it's very hard to get any financing loans these days to buy Car,Property & start any New Business ! And even Banks are reviewing any existing large loans especially to property developers & others !!!

Andyk => Definitely so,we really need to be mentally prepared but after having some good times,it may be slower for those who still in a daze with the financial tsunami or expecting to end soon !...Those who have gone thru' past down cycles may be better mentally prepared !!!

Andyk => Wa BRO,your wish & wait for this "real hard hitting recession" may also affect many who may be jobless or need to close down their business soon...and many others !!!...Of course there'll be changes liked "those were Rich before may be less Rich with losses in shares,etc but definitely there'll be New Rich that may have read the market trends correctly !"....Liked with so much cutdown on corp & personal expenses for fine dining,more are heading to hawkers,maybe these are the New Rich !!! Anyway they really deserve it because they work very hard to do their business !!!

Yes, for those who are used to a humble // thrifty lifestyle, they\\\'\\\'ll be less hard-hit. When they survive the crisis, they\\\'\\\'ll emerge stonger than before!

There\\\'\\\'s a theory, the higher u climb, the higher u are, the harder u fall. So for those die-hards, they\\\'\\\'ll be hit harder, and it\\\'\\\'s a good time to teach them to be more humble & learn to appreciate everything more. ppl may not give up their entertainment altogether but i thk they will definitely cut down n rationalise. eg those who frequent posh KTVs once a wk may now go fortnightly. those who go TN n usually opt for 2 hrs may now reduce to 1. those who goto a salon like MTW may juz go for a normal wash instead of hair spa.

those who r single may still afford to splurge abit. but for those married with kids probly gotta thk twice abt their family, havin enuff to feed d children, pay d utility bills.

ya, for most of the heartlanders in SG, even before the economic crisis hits, he\'s already caught in the cycle of looking forward to his paycheck at the end of the month, paying off bills when his paycheck comes, then planning how & what he can spend on the remaining. With inflation rising faster / more than pay increment, this remaining amount becomes lesser.

During an economic crisis, he may lose his job & paycheck anytime. When he has difficulties affording daily necessities, who is gonna help him?

Where does the fat pay check & revenue of Temasek, GLCs & Lee Dynasty go to? Pappy is the highest paid Govt in the world. Such a small city, with this population, comparing with much bigger countries like China, Thailand, Philippines, etc, those other countries are more difficult to manage, they have much bigger population, they have to face the wrath of natural disasters, etc. So I think it\'s a good time for Pappy to do more, rather than sitting back in their highly paid & comfortable jobs, every other day thinking of politically protecting themselves especially arguing / proving it\'s not their fault when things go wrong.

For those who cannot take hardship, I hope this recession hits hard enough to teach them to wake up & face the world of reality, not continuing to live under the artificial world / environment of SG.

Apparently, this economy crisis is getting from bad to worse......

Every country is trying to protect their own economy & population. Even China, who has the highest GDP growth rate among others, is making a hell lot difficult for foreigners to work in China. It used to take 2 weeks to approve a China working visa...Now, it takes more than 2 months. Some cities even reject these applications outright, especially those who are severly hit by this crisis...

Some times it makes me wonder how on earth can a few jokers collapse an entire world ecomy??? Not to mention that all these jokers are highly intelligent who are graduate of Ivy League schools??

What a crazy world out there....
