1st thing to do is to load the baidu map(百度地图) application, then if u have china mobile number the best, if not buy one b4 u go, now in SG u can purchase china mobile number thru Qoo10SG or other website.
2nd thing for hotel booking if u are not sure best i would recommend is use their well-known app/website: CTRIP (携程) which allow oversea user to register via email/mobile.

same as above, so far those few mobile/wechat IDs are those i manage to get while i am there. i did also mange to get some gals wechat IDs too. but those i think i want to keep (sorry bro, i want to keep for my own selfish reasons) i did meet up with few of them and have lunch and/or dinner , some i did score some just purely meal of meetup type.

basically, i would suggest to all is that if one got 2-3days(free time), then best is to explorer around the area abit , make sure u know the area, take note of where the shopping centre or macdonald or other fast food outlet are. arrange the meetup in high human traffic flow area. (just in case "friend/target" are not acceptable range)

for me now, i only go for MP for quick release, i prefer hunting more.
