How were the "Golden Years" of Geylang better than pre-Covid Geylang (2015-2020)?

Golden years are gone....now swarmed by fw and ft....singapore already infested by covid cases imported from india....

the golden years of GL imho were those at the turn of the century, ie late 90s and all the way up to 2012 or something.

the coffeeshops were full of prc/viet FLs and uncles generous with their CPF money then.

many even numbered lorongs and some odd number ones were lined with international WLs, as if some beauty pagaents all night long, every night.
police spot checks just meant a short break before they came out again; only major AV raids stopped them from reappearing for the night.

cheongsters then were really spoilt for choice.
besides the usual indo/thai/viet/prc/malaysian/local WLs, i myself tried a couple of voluptuous colombians and a slim pretty south african syt that time.

since there's no more GL streetwalkers for budget bonkers like me, i've turned to cheonging JB for the past few years.
then covid19 came...

My memories aren't that far but at least there were streetwalkers and price of GL was $40 I ever hand an encounter with a OKT who brought me to a back alley with young girls wearing bras only. Damn seducing but luckily my big head won.

From visits to HC (my favourite is Bugis HC) where all ladies wore sexy dress to show their beautiful figure and then later chiong In Geylang where quality of PRCs are very good then. Has also try streetwalkers where you have many to choose.

But only for official business leh. Need your company apply for you, and justify damn well why die die you need to go Bolehland when past few months never go your biz can still survive.

Then even if approved, it's still as if you go there on a planned tour group visit like that. No freedom to go visit anywhere else that's not on your itinerary. Don't think you can even get anyone to visit you as "room service" at your hotel either.

In the end, travel also on a leash so short you can't do shit.

Yes, those were the days.
In early 2000's, there were so many houses, even on L22 and inside L24. BMW was one of my favourites on L24.
At night, the China girls standing on L8 all the way to L14 and many were so pretty.
