Re: Tretes

Tretes, was my favorite before the chaos in 1996. We usually booked into a bungalow with nice garden facing the volcano for about SGD80 a night, 3 bed rooms and servant. Few joints to go for girls but the biggest being Complex but that was a good 10 years ago. Should be very different now as there are few holiday resorts for family I guess. In my context, the Complex is big as we could drove from lane to lane looking for chawek in the chilling evening. Almost every house is a fish tank to us unlike in Geylang where one has to walk into the house to see the girls. At the complex rolls of girls sitting in side the fish tanks are looking at us as we drove past slowly and sometimes on foot depending on our moods. As for the bungalow we rented, it was our favorite since its built on the high ground overlooking the volcano and there's a shade at the garden that I like to makeout in the night while another friend of mine would do it in the living room. Years later I even seen a Indonesian Porn that was shot at the same bungalow and on the same bed I slept before. Does anyone has any update on Tretes? |

Tretes
Been there 3 times. Each time stayed in the hotel on the main street. Cannot remember the name but it was very nice and only cost S$50 a night. But it just a room with attached bathroom and clear view of the volcano and city lights at night.
Was there during puasa 2005, and there still were lots of ladies. It is like you mentioned, lots and lots of ladies to choose from. Competition is tough, so the prices are more than reasonable. RP500,000 to RP800,000 for 12 hours. |

Inna Simpang
This place cost about RP250,000 to RP350,000 a night.
The mamasan is near the main entrance and brings the ladies to your room. Price ranges from RP400,000 - RP600,000. Depends on your negotiation skills. |

Darmo Park I & II
This place is near Shangrila hotel - Equator Hotel area. Also not far from Dolly.
I cannot remember which one (I&II) operates when. One of them handles the day shift, the other comes alive at night. It has a combination of massage parlours (extra service and normal), karaoke and pubs. Prices are reasonable. Massage parlours range from RP200,000 for 1.5 hours and up. Karaoke and Pub, private rooms range from RP300,000 (room and 1 lady) upwards. |

Narita, in Jalan Barata Jaya XVII though nearer to the airport is a bit out of the way. Inna Simpang, near Tunjungan Plaza is well located. Weta is not too far from the action too. Satelit, in Jalan Maygen Sunkono is 5 minutes' walk across the road and to the right from Shangrila. It is the cheapest of the lot at Rp180k upwards. Good for visits to Dolly as it is just a 15 minutes' stroll away. For a really budget option, you can try the Olympics at Jalan Urip Sumoharjo near the centre of town. Single with fan at Rp75k and with aircon at Rp100. Its rather rundown but a good deal if you are just overnighting for a few hours. Not recommended otherwise. I stayed there once when I missed a late night flight back to Jkt. Checked in at near midnight and was on my way to the airport again before dawn.

Some Other Budget Hotel
ELMI Hotel is another budget hotel near Monument Bamboo Runcing. This is not that far from Tunjungan Plaza. There is another hotel opposite ELMI, the banner says RP125,000 per night; but it really looks run down.
There are a lot of Street Walkers around that area at about 10 pm to 2 am. Typical price is RP300,000 for short time. |

Somerset is more like a service apartment than a hotel. Unfortunately I will not be there during the mentioned period. As I said before, I am only a visitor to Indonesia. For some action, just jump in a Taxi (Blue Bird or Silver) and ask for "cewek". I have not stayed at Somerser before, most probably there will be some papi who can give recommendation. These guys hang about the streets near the entrance to the hotel. The Beca man probably will also know a few gals here and there. |

The locals do pull me into their establishments since I am obviously an outsider, this is to take a closer look at their local goods! If I like, I pick for the hotel or local consumption. So, I feel dolly is safe for foreigners. Normally the price is clearly stated on the walls. But it is not clearly stated if the price is for 1 hour, 1.5 hour, room with aircon or without aircon. |

Pubs
I forgot to mention the Pubs in the major hotels like ShangriLa, Hyatt... etc as another place to find ladies.
The ladies are typically older and more mature in attitude. Not that they are OLD, but some are older than the normal working ladies you find. I am not into drinking, so not so that familiar with these places. Prices for overnight typically is around RP500,000, maybe RP600,000. |
