My friend is considering whether to have kids, a visit to the gynae, consulation alone cost over $100+, ultrascan $100+ n with medication easily cost over $300+ per visit excluding delivery charges.
That's already a fraction of his monthly salary.

That is for smooth delivery and with complications, that will come up to a few of ten Ks and they are not covered with medical insurance.

*Touchwood*, dun get sick ... if need operation/hospitalisation will incur hefty medical bills for Singaporean and there are no subsidies for non Singaporean.

the problem about foreign wife is they can't contribute much to the bread and butter....those slightly more educated working foreign ladies will be looking for golden turtles....

my mum told me our neighbour the son married a wife don't do any work at home....the MIL angry the wife sleep until 12pm wake up everyday...give birth to 2 kids thats all. then i tell my mother, even if can do housework also not enough....because is not like last time u buy a cow very hardworking to 耕田 can already...but heng is the guy is fairly ok...got some $ i guess.

For me? I don't send $ to my parent in law every month.
I only send back abt half a k when cny is approaching for them to buy stuffs for usher of the cny.

As for my wife, she sent $ back using her salary that she earn thru her job. once in a while. Because i educate my wife that "Don't expect luxury life in singapore when you marry into Singapore. We need to work and save $ so that when we retired, we can lives carefree back in your hometown."

My father in law is a Lorry driver which barely earn 350 sgd per mth.
I asked my wife to told her family that when we save enough $ for a piece of land, we will sent back and buy, so that it can use as a $ generator for all of us in future.
