Re: Tagalog Words and Phrases

Awesome thread. My first exposure to the Tagalog language. Hope to pick up a few phases, esp those with Malay words...easier to remember

Re: Tagalog Words and Phrases

Mabuhay (Welcome) to this long overdue thread. The emphasis is on words that help you get romantic, intimate and physical with Filipinas. Who knows, you might marry a Filipina wife. I was told by a Singaporean Chinese man many years ago that his Filipina wife is a good wife. You might clinch million dollar business deals in Philippines. I know that Filipinos mostly speak American English but this new thread will hopefully give you a foot (and your dick) up with them. It does a little for me when I spout my elementary Tagalog to them. One Filipina maid told me I must have many Filipina girl friends before. I denied it. Please contribute. Remember to put in the English translations. Requests for Tagalog - English translations and vice versa are welcome. Hope you improve your Tagalog (and French kissing with Filipinas). Tagalog and Malay share a few common words.

The ancestors of the Filipinos originated from the Malay Archipelago and Indonesia. It is said that all Filipinos were then locked up in a Spanish convent for 300 hundred years and let loose in Hollywood for 50 years after that. (Philippines was ruled by Spain for 300 years and after that by USA for 50 years).

Salamat (thank you), pa alam (good bye) in Tagalog
Adios: Good bye (Spanish. Not a Tagalog word but understandable by Filipinos)
Balut: The cooked duck's egg in its shell which Filipinos like to eat
