01) Post a humble proposal asking those whom are knowledgeable in the HCM scene if you can join their outings (should they be there during that period) and you offer to buy them drinks or makan for their kind help.

bro i share the same thoughts as you but its better to pay upfront than to kena chop while being there

on the alternatives you suggested:

1) stilll looking for seniors that are going at the same time, so far nobody
2) currently underway but not able to speak the language makes it really difficult. if its thai then different since 2 years in thai has helped me alot
