Re: HIV screening info
Hi all,
it's been more than a year and a half since my last visit to AFA testing this afternoon. But never expect something interesting to happen on my this visit. Was waiting for my number to be called for pre counselling, then a super chio-bu step in, wearing a bear back top and short jean skirt, high heels and long hair, perhaps 1.58 m in height. Chio bu started filling up the questionaire then my turn for the pre- couselling. Came out and went for the test and then out again and wait for my result. Then I realise she starts speaking to an Ang Moh guy even though the ang moh did not really reply her much . A typical SPG I guess, and her english try to slang like fxxk. Then in my mind, the first thought is: So heong, yet to get result and start hook an Ang Moh right here at that moment. Then my turn for the result and thank god, everything is fine and I came out. I sit for a while while talking to my other friend who was with me and the chio bu seems still to be trying to chat the ang moh up while he was busy playing with his PDA. Then her turn for result. She went in, then in less than 3seconds she came out!! She went to the ang moh, and he ask"Everything fine?" and the Chio bu reply "yah, Let's go!!" I was really surprise at that moment, in less than 3 seconds she came out. Then came the second thought in me: Did he actually want her to prove that she is negative before he proceed to have a FJ raw with her?? I can't help thinking. |

Re: HIV screening info
So far, we always read about people going for the HIV test and getting negative results...I always wonder what happens when someone goes for the test and has positive results. Can AFA share what the counsellors do after that?

Re: HIV screening info
How about having Foot Job with condom and licking feet? Can these affect HIV and any other uncurable disease? Please... Scary..

Re: HIV screening info
Can someone from AFA publish the past 12 months of data showing the percentage of people tested +ve by gender? The MOH statistics may not represent all cases since there are some unreported ones.
As anonymous testing conducted at AFA, I beleive a closer to reality statistics might be available. Also, what is the monthly maintenance cost for medicine used by HIV patient? |

Re: HIV screening info
Can someone from AFA reveal the statistics of +ve results by month and gender for the past 12 months?
I believe the anonymous test will provide a better picture than the MOH one. Also, what is the average maintenance cost for a HIV person? Beside medicine, what else need to cover? |

Re: HIV screening info
I went to the DSC today at 2pm (Wed) after going through quite a bit of "soul searching". Paid deposit of $30 at the reception and waited outside room 11. The queue shown outside room 11 was 68 and my Q no. 91. I hour 20 min later, the Q no. outside is 58. It jumped from 68 to the highest of 75 but went back to 65, 63, 60 and then 58. I looked left and right at the 30 guys around me. The receptionist told me that there is only 1 doctor and 1 nurse for consultation. Enough. Fucking Sillypore third world medical service. And this is not free. I asked and was given my $30 back. So I live another day not knowing whether I have caught anything naughty that I have done a month back. Would appreciate anyone with an alternative place to take such tests.

Re: HIV screening info
The statistics is currently being collated for 2006. The MOH website has the figures for 2005, broken by age group, profession, gender and other factors. But, it have been observed so far that the average age of those who are found with HIV are getting younger (meaning that our youths are engaging in highly risky sexual behaviors). Our campaign now is also focus on women who may get infected from their spouses who engage in risky sexual practices elsewhere. The incidence of other STIs is also on the rise.
Costs of medication is dependent on what combination is being administered, and may vary from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand. Other costs include routine tests to determine your immunity level (CD4 count) and viral load (how “infective” are you?). Those infected with HIV are also more prone to other infections, and will require more treatment for their infections. Whatever the costs it is, it is not worth paying that price. For more information, do email us at [email protected]. Protect your own life, play it safe, & stay Negative. Quote:

Re: HIV screening info
hi, first of all it was indeed brave of u to take the first step to go for the test.
Unfortunately, perhaps u got to DSC on a busy day. I know exactly how u feel cause when I first went there think is 3 years back, I waited for quite sometime also. 'Du lan' yes, nervous yes, I suppose u went for same HIV/syphillis test cause u mentioned $30. (Day clinic have to wait 1 week for result) There is this anonymous testing done at DSC Tues, wed : 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Saturdays: 1.20 pm to 3.30pm (except on public holidays) To avoid the crowd one way is to go when the clinic just open. Works for me. Although u have to wait also but will be much faster. Cost: S$20 Pre- and Post-Test Counselling is provided by trained volunteers. Results are available within 20 min of doing the test. No personal particulars are recorded even with positive results ps : U have done well to take the 1st step to go for a test although u did not complete it. Why not go for the test again? There r other places but as bros here have said the docters and nurses at the other clinics at singapore like to treat samsters as freaks. If I not wrong there is this HIV testing kit not sure available yet sold at pharmacies. Maybe bros can confirm? Quote:

Re: HIV screening info
Three weeks ago on a Thursday, I went to DSC for STI tests for the second time. Unlike the last time, this time the queue was almost non-existent. Perhaps Mondays and Wednesdays should be avoided. I did a smear test and a blood test, which cost me about $40. Fortunately, the results were negative, I think. I was told that if the results were positive, I would get a phone call within a week. The smear test for unusually high level of white blood cells were known within 15 min on the test day. The blood test results would be a few days later.
