Another week passed. I had another week to go for my attachment to the clinic.

Honestly it was quite a welcome change from working in an office, at least I didn’t need to deal with Rebecca flirting with me or asking questions I didn’t want to answer daily. But the type of work and the stress was on another level. I didn’t know how some of the senior staff dealt with it on a daily basis, but that was likely the reason why the turnover was absurdly high, and hiring replacements was an issue.

I dragged myself home on Friday night, half expecting to hear moans from the bedroom, be it Jasmine, Shirlyn or Kate, but I heard none. The house was surprisingly quiet.

I set my keys down and proceeded to strip as I approached the bedroom so I could take a shower, turning the lights on along the way.

After my late dinner it was already 9+ so I headed back home to chill for awhile before meeting Darren.

Jasmine still had not answered her phone or replied to my texts. I wondered if I should check with Kate or Felicia or Nat. So I dropped each of them a text. Kate replied almost instantly.

I wanted to ask if he heard any background noises over the phone but decided not to.

D: Where do you think Jas and Nat are? Have you asked Shirlyn?

Me: Yeah. She’s not with them and she’s busy.

D: Weird. I thought they were hanging out or something. Since neither you nor Jason are with Nat.

Me: I have no idea where they are.

D: Anyway… Do you mind meeting up with Jason first? In case I’m delayed.

D: Strangely it wasn't the battery, the guy jumped started then checked everything. Paid him like $20 only.

I hung up and lazed on the sofa.

Jason arrived around 20 minutes later. He somehow remembered the unit number from his last time here and buzzed. I let him in.

I didn’t have any beer so I just grabbed a bottle of Jim Beam and some coke and poured us a glass each.

Me: Tiring. Work is draining.

Honestly dont know whether to envy you or to empathize with you but looking at the whole situation it seems like both yourself and jasmine dont know what you really want.
I speculate that Jasmine is pushing you to fool around so she herself has the excuse to fool around to answer her own question of whether she really is ready to "settle down" again after the divorce. Her completely disappearing for a day with no sound and word is a huge red flag imo.

And your "desperation" to find out where she is by calling all related parties shows the discrepancy in the "balance" of your "relationship" with her. Which i think you rationalize by telling yourself that both of you aren't in a "proper relationship" yet hence you have "no rights" in a sense.

Indeed it is the reality.

Other than Jason and Crystal, I do have other friends who got married for a HDB, sold it after MOP for profit. One such couple is surprisingly on their third HDB already. Sometimes I really wonder why it is so easy for them, when it took me forever to actually get a queue number to ballot.
