Hi Bro,
I was in Bkk over the Vesak hoilday and you are right most places close and no alchohol can be served. I understand that this is the same for most public holidays in Thailand. Take note also that during the Vesak holiday the major MPs in Ratchada were also closed. You should check before you go down.

Just a suggestion if you do decide to go during the holidays.........you could also turn it into a benefit for you........before the holidays get the contact of a ger that you like from the MPs, bars or FLs......arrange for them to meet you during the holidays. I was there with Tirak99 and Gigantor and together with SmallD (who is based there) we still had quite a lot of good fun.............for alchohol we brought along our own duty free from the airport for that day. For those working at Mps or bars ......the best thing is that holidays they don't have to work and some more you don't have to pay the bar fine.
