Pity to see him go. He has got the attitude, heart and desire and potential. Yep, wishing him all the best too. The money will come in handy to strengthen our team some more.

Cheers

Recreativo Huelva have signed striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle from Liverpool, according to the club's official website.

The 22-year-old has been on loan at the Primera Liga outfit since the start of the season and has scored 11 goals in the club's unlikely push for a UEFA Cup place.

Within the loan deal was the option to sign Sinama-Pongolle permanently, which Recreativo have exercised at a cost of four million euros (2.7m).

The France Under-21 international is now under contract until June 2011.

Club president Francisco Mendoza said: "Today is a very happy day for all those connected with Recreativo, as we have all waited for the moment of seeing Sinama as a member of the club.

"We have obtained him by putting in the most important financial push of this organisation in its 118-year history."

Sinama-Pongolle was bought by Liverpool from Le Havre in 2001 along with his distant cousin Anthony Le Tallec, but the pair remained with Le Havre until the summer of 2003.

Neither could command a regular first-team place at Anfield and Pongolle spent the second half of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

After sealing his move, Sinama-Pongolle said: "I would like to thank the club and the fans for the affection they have shown me since I arrived at Huelva
."

There goes our Cinema Popcorn .......thanks for all his contributions, especially goals against Olympiakos & Luton, wish him all the best in La Liga.
Bro,
U missed out one impt statement:

"Pongolle has been outspoken in some of his criticism of Liverpool and Benitez since his loan moves which also included Blackburn Rovers. The player was famously spotted wearing an Everton scarf and declaring that the ‘people’s team’ in Liverpool was… Everton. Excellent career move"

Is this so? I didn't read that sentence. Then he will go down in my estimation. To criticism the manager is OK, even natural, but to go against the club like that is a no no. Well, we got 2.7m out of it.

Thanks, think this one is from another website ?

I can understand his bitterness, together with Mellor he missed out the coveted CL medal although he did play a big part in that stunning victory against Olympiakos, and didn't get to play more after making immediate impact
in the game against Luton. I won't take away his contributions in helping us to bring back the big ears & FA Cup, but definitely won't appreciate what he did with the Everton scarf, while he was still a Liverpool player. Anyway we have made a profit out of this sale( signed at an undisclosed fee estimated to be 1.5-2m),how often LFC managed not to incur loss from sales of players for the past few years ? (Another one I can recall is from the sale of Traore)
I just hope he won't come back to haunt us one day.

u r right that pool seldom sell players and made $. u could still think of traore... i couldnt come up with any names, well maybe they could have made some from milan baros... they should have!!!

but for pongolle to come back to haunt pool, recreativo must first play pool... unlikely lah... not too worried though, always felt he was too lightweight

Spot on ! We should have made around 4m of profit from selling him to Villa.
But never know he is so nasty now......

Czech striker Milan Baros has been handed a three-match ban by the French Football League (LFP) for pinching his nose in front Cameroon's Stephane Mbia.

Baros, who plays for Olympique Lyon, pinched his nose in front of the Stade Rennes midfielder and waved his hand as if he were repelling an offensive odour last month.

I am really pissed off with this defeat to the Cottagers. True, there's no hope of challenging for the title & the CL place is secured, but our players should try their best & show more interests to beat a lowly team which were there for the taking.

I feel the same way, in fact I felt like this in the Pompey game. It is a slap in the face of the fans. Problem is not just the players but the manager who picks them, as much as I hate to say it. What happens next season if we are challenging on more than one front?

Have to say many of our squad players - including Speedy especially - are not playing to standard.

Only good thing, return of one Harry Kewell.

Also good to see Finnan get a run out at his old club.

This shows that we do not have depth in the team. Imagine Liverpool non-existent without gerrard and Jamie.

only 4mil profit??? damn, barcelona was interested after the euro championship and last thing i saw, they were offering 15 mil pounds. should have let him go... will always remember him as one who runs with the ball damn well, but never lifting his head up to look where he was passing... thought that was the first thing we were taught as footy players???

yah hor, what's with him and the spitting??? he spits everywhere he goes... but like what he is doing to the opposition at bolton. why we didnt see that when he was playing for pool???

nobody seems to want to step up... the last 2 games were a disgrace to the fans who paid $ and made time to travel with them... they should have shown more grit and determination. but then again, the players would all be thinking not to get injured so as to make themselves available for the champs league final... so, expected. but recent form suggests that we dont need a right winger now that jermaine pennant is finally showing his true class. pederson and benni mccarthy for pool next season??? both r very consistent and a constant danger in games... mccarthy is showing to be a real fox in the box... finally showing the world what he is capable of...

as what kingeros said of my 2 cents, again my lousy 2 cents worth

Baros was a 1 dimensional player. Good only for Czech national team. We are going to suffer a big loss on CISSE too! Seems like Marselle dun want him.

Sinama Pogolle's transfer dun seem to be complete yet, according to soccernet.
