Let's assume he wants to get married at 25 wif a gal of the same age, how long hv they been working based on their age? Male disadvantage cos of NS. Think both combine can even pay downpayment for a 4rm flat wif CPF? Combine savings to top up?

I wish to share a REAL LIFE story. In 2006, when I was in Shanghai, from my condo to office in HuangPu Road, it was a leisure 5mins daily walk. Everyday, I wud hv to walk past a street of very old 100+yrs shop houses like those in GL, only much much older. But surrounding all these old shophouses, were sparkling sky scrapers.
Everyday, I would buy 30 you tiao for my stuff to makan on my way to office. One day, I decided to hv a chat wif the old uncle who sells the you tiao.

Can't even get HDB lol hit the celling le.. Need to buy the expensive bto and not to forget some still have study loan need to repay back.

Yup! In china buying a house is very very expensive. It does not only applied to shanghai nia.. Beijing, chengdu, those more developed province in china also very expensive. Per my china colleagues.

My friends couple both whom i know quite well combine salary ard 10+k

But do they lead a very wealthy lifestyle? No! Nowadays i think even with a 4k-5k pay also nothing to shout abt! if u have a car,think u dun have much saving too....

Nowadays prices for house ard 300k already... 5 years down the road or 10 years down the road? 600k for a flat at bukit panjang maybe? can u imagine tat? i think work till 70 years old also not enough by then seriously

Sis, ur industry represents how many % of the new graduates being employed? Definitely not even 10% tiobo. The general wage of a fresh grad is less than those in ur industry. Not wise to use it as a benchmark. Also, as I've posted earlier, a combined income of 10k NOW is termed as peanuts hor

ya I do agreed 10k is nothing. What I'm trying to emphasize is due to the benchmark being set they can't buy hdb need to buy expensive houses all landed up in mountain of debts.
