I sat down, settled my stuffs, turned on my pc and I noticed Chery's computer is on, it just that she wasn't on her desk when I came in. Not too bad I thought of myself, finally my eye candy is back in the office. Not long after I settled myself..

Cheryl: Good morning Max
Max: Oh, good morning Cher, looking good today
Cheryl: Well, as usual, thank you
Max: Did you get the kind of vibe that I mentioned to you yesterday? The part whereby everyone is looking at you with that cheeky look?
Cheryl: No Max, haha, not a single word or look. Probably its just you.
Max: Or maybe I was just being sensitive..

Out of the blue, suddenly Wendy came by and:

Wendy: Hey guys, are you coming for Jack's farewell dinner and drinks after work?
Cheryl: Yes of course..
Wendy: Awesome babe.. and you Max? Are you coming?
Max: Errr.. I totally forgot about that, but I'll try alright
Wendy: That probably means no right?
Max: Err.. we'll see, never say never right?

By the way, Jack was one of our MD in the office. White guy, late 40s or mid 50s probably. I personally never worked under him but Cheryl did before. I must emphasize that he was rather bias and favor towards female colleague and non-Asian male colleague, so his transfer to Japan office was rather a joyful moment for some of us.

Anyway fast forward a little, I remembered that afternoon our Hong Kong client called and wanted us to provide us with further confirmation before they can make decision.

Cheryl: Max, we got a problem..
Max: Yeap I know.. I got cc'ed
Cheryl: Its 5pm! I need to call Wendy and tell her that we can't go for that dinner and drinks.
Max: I figure..
Cheryl: Sucks, I'm sorry Max, I know they are not your client but somehow you are dragged to this.
Max: Well its fine, things happen

Max: You're done with the additional presentation?
Cheryl: Yes, but I still need to work on the presentation
Max: I am almost done with the spreadsheet, do you have all the raw data in the local drive?
Cheryl: Yes I do.
Max: Then why don't you head out for Jack's. Its not too late for the drinks. I am sure Wendy and him will appreciate that.
Cheryl: Huh? No, I wouldn't to that. This is my responsibility and I wouldn't let you do that.
Max: Well, you do know I have to go through this and sign on since no more director are around now right? So might as well let me wrap it rather than idling around waiting for you to wrap this up.
Cheryl: Really? Max you are indeed the best. I would have kissed you if we are not in the office. *cheeky smile*
Max: Now go, just leave your computer unlock. I will go through from your pc instead.
Cheryl: Alright
Max: Grab something first alright, don't eat with an empty stomach
Cheryl: Yes mom..

Almost an hour passed by and I had yet to finish the presentation packaging; somehow my mind was partially thinking about Cheryl. I was wondering whether shes doing alright or not. I never felt this way for her before, I was afraid its probably cause what happened back in Hong Kong, I somehow felt emotionally attached to her. Crap this is not good I told myself at that point of time. I should not get my hopes high otherwise I might end up only disappointed. Suddenly my phone vibrate and it was Wendy.

Wendy: I think you better rescue your darling, she doesn't look like she can get hold of herself.
Max: Huh? You mean Cheryl?
Wendy: Yes, hurry!

I panicked and the first thing that came up to my mind was to call Cheryl. I tried and to my nightmare, I couldn't reach her phone. I closed my laptop, quickly went down to the place where they were hanging out. 1001 things gone through my mind, that short walk to the bar seemed like forever back then. After a while, I finally reached and quickly scanned the whole place for Cheryl. I saw Wendy and saw her pointing to some direction for Cheryl. I spotted her and slowly walked towards her while I kept my cool.

Max: Cher..
Cheryl: Max! I didn't know you are coming!
Max: *puzzled face* You seem rather okay.
Cheryl: Yes of course I am alright, why?

I turned around to Wendy only to noticed her giggling on one corner while looking at us.

Max: And your phone? I tried to call you earlier.
Cheryl: Oh my phone ran out of battery!
Max: Right..
Cheryl: Is everything alright Max?
Max: Yes, yes, everything is alright Cher. Let me talked to Wendy first alright.
Cheryl: Are you done with the presentation Maxy?
Max: I'll take care of that, don't worry.

I wished I could just grab a drink and bash Wendy's head with that I told to my self. Geez, son of a bitch made me worry for nothing.

Max: Great job Wendy, really great job.
Wendy: Haha, but hey you came!
Max: Fuck, I still have presentation to be worked on Wend, thanks to you now I gotta finish it back home. You are ridiculous.
Wendy: I know I was being a bitch about it, but now I know you care about Cheryl! Sorry Max!

Wendy reached me and gave me a sorry hug. Suddenly I felt a poke to my back and I saw Cheryl just right behind me.

Cheryl: What is wrong with you two..
Wendy: Babe! He came here because of you!
Cheryl: huh?
Wendy: Remember you told me that your battery ran out? I know then Max couldn't reach you. So I texted him saying that you are drunk and may need help. Look who came here in just about 10mins!
Max: Oh fuck, this doesn't sound so good.
Cheryl: Oh.. aww poor Max, he was helping me to work on our presentation. Come let me give you a hug too.
Wendy: See Max, now you have 2 pretty girls attending to you. Alot of people will be jealous of you, you know.. Alright I am going to use the washroom first.. be back soon

Unfortunately she didn't work as an air stewardess before. This is her first job fresh from uni.
