Dark Angel - The Return of the Fallen Angel
Chapter 16
“You….” The soft whisper seemed to echo around the quiet room as Angel stood staring at the teary eyed young man in front of her. “Wh… Me? What? Why? Alan?” Angel fought to regain her composure at this astounding confession. Taking a deep breath, Angel started over again. “Alan, please explain yourself. Why am I the reason that started all this for you?” The young man raised his head and looked at her, tracks of tears stained his once young cheerful face. She could see the pain in his eyes begging for understanding. She tried to soften her appearance as much as she could but she knew that she needed the answers no matter what. Patiently, she waited for him to open himself up to her. Finally, Alan started to speak and his confession was something that Angel did not expect. “When I first came to this school, I was lost. I didn’t know what I wanted; I didn’t know where I was going.” Alan started. “I remember as if it were yesterday, the first time I saw you when you walked into the lecture theatre to talk to us during orientation.” Angel struggled to think back to that day a year ago when she delivered a presentation that she did year after year. With the amount of things that had happened to her in the last twelve months, she found it hard to zone in on the details. “I was enthralled the moment you started your presentation, your tone, your voice, everything about you just captured my attention. There was just something about you that made me want to listen…. Want to excel…. When you started talking about the various careers open to us when we had the foundations of the Sciences, you laid the pathway for me. It made me want to take those steps that you spoke about.” Alan paused as he started to drift towards that moment in his life where his path had been decided for him. Angel wanted to interrupt to say that those were just broad examples but she fought to control herself; biting her lower lip to stop herself from talking and just letting him continue at his own pace. “When I found out that you were the Biology tutor, I knew that triple science was where I needed to be. I worked so hard to show you that I was as you foretold. I excelled so that you would notice me. And I found joy when I saw the pride you had in me…..” Alan trailed off. Angel’s jaw dropped a little at the revelation. From his disclosure, Alan had been working to show her that he could and he was fighting for her praise, her attention. “But…. This year…. When… when we came back from our break, you…. you were no… no longer the Biology tutor. You stayed holed up in this office and sent that dumb guy to us. He is nothing like you. He knows nothing…. I know more then him. I’ve read all the books, I’ve read reference books for the University level courses and I know what’s going on more then he does. All he does is ogle at the girls in class and ignore us guys. He’s not……. you…..” Angel was seriously shocked. Was this revelation true? Was Daniel really a bumbling fool who spent more time flirting with the young girls then spending time actually teaching? If it were true, it would be a serious issue. Why didn’t she catch this earlier? She should have known. It was her job to know. “Ok, Alan. Please listen to me now.” Angel started. “It shouldn’t matter who is teaching you. You are an intelligent guy. You are one of my brightest students. Promise me that you won’t slack because of this. Do well in your next assignment and I promise I will reward you.” “Reward with what?” Alan asked inquisitively. “Anything you want?” Angel blurted out without consideration.

wow.... i didn't realise there was still response for this thread.... I'm rushing my final project for my part time degree and will try to post the continuation after I'm done in September... Sorry to all my readers for the long long delay... cheers
