Accordingly to my tourist police friend in CM.......a lot of cheap tourist make police report to say stolen, rob etc to get police report and later go back to claim their own insurance company so they can get free trip + spending money.......not sure this is the case or not

I saw similar tricks in YouTube. But usually it happens at Patts. And the tourist were farang.

Last day of my 5 days stay in this northern city. Overall the experience was not to expectation. Check out one agogo bar on first 3 nights, all r roughly the same. Startix has cover charge. Only 1 -2 girls dance on stage at a time and total less than 10 girls. Foxy lady was very pushy on lady drink. Tonight is last night stay, decided to go karaoke checkout. Unless ur wallet is super loaded, otherwise avoid it. Can't remember the name but is the 1st on the right if you go from night bazaar. Mamasan said Thb 400/hr for room, 1 girl 400/hr, anything extra deal with girl and pay direct to girl. The reason I went to this place was there is this young fair girl standing outside attracted me. Nice body and cute smile. Went in escorted by an mid age mamasan to room. Then the cute girl also accompany. After girl parade, I said I want the cute girl, then the mamasan said cannot because the girl also mamasan, a 23yo mamasan.she said must choose one of the girl in parade but young mamasan can sit around. So fine, I chose my next option and she was nice and sit with me for the next hour. The young mamasstay for less than 5 mins then go away and return abt 30 mins later sit for a while. I was negotiating with the girl to go overnight while the young mamasan sitting next to me. Final deal is 3000 over night, and I ask for the bill. What pissed me off is there r tonnes of hidden charges. Ice 2 bucket, 140, mamasan 500, misc charges 600 and the total bill for the hour is 5k. And they charge me 2 hr instead of 1. Anyway no reason to argue when out numbered so I walk out with the girl then mamasan say 5000 for 2 hr. That again pissed me off. From 3000 over night to 5000 for 2 hrs. I said no and walk away and as I do so, she offered 3000 for 3 hrs, pay to club. I told them screw u and walk away.
For brothers here visiting chiangmai, just keep money in your pocket, this city is not worth spending on. Bkk is better place and better value. Sorry, a bit long report.

555 i was just chatting in whatsapp with another sbf bro who told me me he got cheated 3000 baht an 1 hour in ktv near night market area and now I saw this post 5000 baht.

Anyway, please dun get attracted by those pretty girls standing outside ktv near night market, most of them aim to con Jap or other hamsup people. Search google or some other CM forum like thai visa or even some page back here will know the advice.........Bangsan still ok and maybe some other honest type like twenty karaoke etc.

In Bangkok also have patphong always cheat tourist lah, dun kena cheated in Patphong and tell people Bangkok not worth spending on leh 555.

btw CM not a vice city but more of lay back relax, party, clubbing and to sian some local non working lady. Cheaper living and party expenses but be careful of tourist trap KTV.

Anyway good to share your experience......up you!

Sorry to heard that you been ripped off at Cnx here. Normally I only paid 200 bht for the room and 240 bht for the girl hr.

End of the day of 5 to 6 hr of ktv-ing I only paid 1-1.5k bht shared amount by other 2-3 friends. Normally we bought our own bottle in.

Don't go to ktv unless you can speak Thai or at least have some locals which you trust accompany you in.

Wah another incident being rip off? That's bad. Actually at the changklan area quite expensive as all the girls is 100% Thai, try to look for those thai yai girls.

Recently went inside drink sangsom, total bill only 2k bht. For 4 pax.

Looks like you fallen for the honey trap - bait a pretty SYT and see what bites! Happens in Bangkok also especially the Iranian owned bars at Soi Cowboy. When go inside the pricing should alert you already but guess you kana mesmerized by SYT outside, small head doing the thinking.

There is a video of this farang that kana conned more jialat than you on CM KTV he brought his case all the way to the police station. If I remember correctly they were trying to chop him for BHT30K!

According to the USGS an earthquake measuring 6.3 hits northern Thailand at around 6pm Thai time. Epicentre is reportedly 9km south of Mae Lao (not sure where exactly that is) but I guess its near the mountainous regions of Chiangrai.

Pictures above shows some damage in Chiangrai and people evacuating buildings and the airport. Tremors were felt as far south as Bangkok so those of you doing some horizontal exercises an hour ago maybe you just weren't that great in bed?
