Usually the boss changes ML name because there is too much heat. (i.e. he/she knows that she does CCA) and wishes to avoid trouble and attention.

Not sure what is the arrangement between the boss and MLs, isit more of 'As long as I don't see it, do whatever you want, live and let live' or 'strictly no hankypanky'.
