Me " hello who is this ? " Voice over e phone " hi I am sorry I am looking for a driver to replace my regular driver who is on hospitalization leave. " Me " friend , I am sorry I think you got the wrong number . No... No... You are Charles right ? Someone gave me your number as a referral. I urgently need a driver . ..... Me : "how do I address you ? CHAN . You can call me Mr Chan . Me : mr Chan , I am doing a LIMO business , I don't do personal driving . Chan " pls l am desperate , my regular driver is very sick I need a driver to help me out " I did not speak anymore and kept silent for a while. Mr chan " why don't u pop by my condo for tea , we can have a short discussion. Me " ok" Mr chan " great I will wait for you at the guard house. I rode my bike and stop at the guard house. No that can't do . You are guest today . I prepare tea and some light snacks, let's go up . I had no choice but to oblige. Come on In pls. The maid held the door for us as I follow him in. After he took his seat , I then sat down opposite him. We had tea and made some small talk before we talk about work. Me " so tell me about my job scope ."' Mr chan " report at 630am , send my kid to school . Come back sent the maid to cold storage for shopping. After that standby at the condo for me or my wife. Some times I will drive to work . Sometimes I need u to send me to work . If there is nothing for the day , you help men to wash the FIVE cars ....and ... Me : " FIVE cars ! !! I cut him off immediately . I place my tea cup on the the table . Me " sorry , I really don think.... Mr chan " pls Charles..... " JOY " ... The maid came out " yes sir ' Chan " bring young master out " Yes sir ...the maid obey. The maid push the young master out on a wheel chair. I took a look at the boy and I could tell the boy has special needs. My heArt sank. I wave my hand and acknowledge his presence. Mr chan " ok , push him bAck in . The maid did as told. My eyes well up with tears. Mr chan " my son has cerebral palsy ..... " I place my hand up to stop him ......" I understand " Me " tell what are the five cars you have before I decided to take on the job." Mr chan " I got a Ferrari , a Lamborghini, a RR , a 5 series and a S class. You will drive the S class daily. My wife takes the 5 series. Me " ic .... What is my salary like ? Mr chan " since it is a short time for a month. There will be no leave , medical benefit , No OT, No CPF . I will pay you 4K . Every Saturday after your job end I will pay you 1k. I will pay for your motorcycle petrol , ERP charges , season parking and your handphone bill. Me " ok. When do I start .... " Mr chan stood and stretch out his hand . I stood up and shook his hand . The next day I reported at the condo . I parked my motorcycle at the basement carpark and took my cleaning car kit with me .
I went to find the S class and discover it was clean very likely by the domestic helpers, the BMW 5 series was parked beside it and it was extremely dirty. I did not have both the car keys with me as it was my first day of work. I stood beside the car and waited. I took my handphone out to realize that the signal at the basement car park wasn't good. After walking around the car park I managed to find a spot with 2 bar of signal. I stood there for a while to check if I had missed Any call for mr chan. It was 8 am and still there wasn't any call. I took off a cleaning cloth from my bag and started to clean the 5 series sport rims while waiting. Excuse me ? What do you think you are doing ? .....lady voice. I stood up and adjusted my shirt. Me : " I was just ..... Lady : " why are you touching my car ? Me " I am the .... Lady " I am calling security ! Me " pls call mr chan first !!! Lady " you know my husband ? " Me " I want to tell you , that I am the new driver your husband enagaged." She was embarrassed as her snow fair skin on her face started to turn red. Lady " I am so sorry ... You must be Charles. Me " is ok mrs chan ! Lady " here is the spare for all the five cars. From now on you take charge of all e cars. Pls take me to great world city for my gym class. Me " ok mrs chan. She hop on the back seat of the 5 series, I scramble to get myself ready and off we went. I drop her off at GWC. Mr chan " come back at 11am , same place pick me up. Me " yes mrs chan.
