if u want get 1 year visa need 400k. if dont have 400k then get the 90 days one lor marriage visa only 90 days with 1 month extend which made it 90+30 days but bkk said 60 days. and i asked can extend ma they say cannot. after 90 + 1 month u need go back then come again. but duno got issue anot with like this. So the single entry is 90 days no need 400k baht? and just pay money to extend 90 days? but i check online they said if ur salary is more than 40k baht also can but i found out this criteria dont have liao..now is 400k baht for multi entry |

Re: Living in Bangkok!
communication breakdown?
i think maybe is 3month visa then follow by 1 year marriage visa my case for your reference only, no guarantee - register marriage in SG - update marriage status in TH (1 bro has already give the steps) to get the TH marriage cert - apply for visa at immigration at your wife's registered address - for my case was 1st given the 3month visa - 1 month before 3 month visa expired apply for marriage visa (1 year) - just renewed my 5th year 1 month ago 1 thing to note (for my case), marriage visa without children, my 1st - 3rd yearly renew immigration officer come to my house to interview and need to have a witness sign, usually neighbor, moobaan manager etc etc if we are a real marriage. but after i had my child, just include child thai birth cert in the renewal documentation will do, no more investigation for fake marriage |

Re: Living in Bangkok!
Hi guys, I am recently offered 90k Thai Baht including housing allowance to teach primary school mathematics in one of the private schools in Bangkok. I am seriously considering it but am not sure if teaching big classes is kind of my thing.
What would you have done? |

If you're angmo or farang, sure they will be more than happy to do ahead and feel like a king with this small amount not inclusive of housing etc. But you're fellow Singaporean, funboi's advise is very true.....think again before u come.

If you like to retire in any country, I would say you need to have a job or a business in that country. If not, it would be a risky move

but as long as you are on 1 year visa non-o thai spouse, yes you need to maintain 400k in bank account for 2month or the new regulation now about the monthly income which im not sure. but my renewal last month only require the 400K/2month rule. and i think you are right that the 3month visa given is for preparation of the 1 year visa due to the 2month bank account amount rule. cause on my 2nd or 3rd year renewal, my account drop below 400K (i overlooked). renewal kana rejected and was given the 3 month visa instead n again apply for the 1 year visa non-o thai spouse 1 month before the 3month visa expire. |

Re: Living in Bangkok!
ok maybe i try to help clearing the doubt on marriage visa.....There are 2 type of marriage visa :
1. Marriage visa apply in Thailand. As usual need 400k deposit for 3 months or more or salary not less than 40k monthly if not wrong.......1 year visa and apply a multiple re-entry for 3800 baht u can stay longer than 90 days and make multiple trip in/out of Thailand is ok. This visa is more expensive and troublesome to apply as they need family photo showing where u stay, sometime they will visit u and ask your neighbour or for my case just submit photo showing wife and kids with me in front of house, inside house etc will do. But this kind of visa after continue for 3 years, i can have a choice to apply for the 5 years resident permit. (For 40k baht salary u can just go to sg embassy in bkk to declare your sg salary and get endorse by the embassy is ok) 2. Marriage visa in Thai Embassy Singapore Orchard road. This is for Singaporean husband who has Thai wife and NOT living in Thailand, so u can apply this marriage visa and stay in Thailand not more than 90 days, although the marriage visa is valid for 1 year but each stay must not over 90 days and u must leave the country. You can go multiple time and no question as unlike those tourist visa. Application fee is also cheap and is easy to apply.....but this visa even you apply 10 years also you are not able to get the 5 years Resident visa unless u do it in Thailand etc. As for the salary 40k baht or 400 baht requirement, u can show your sg salary or sg bank acc for this kind of application, unlike the other type u must show in thai baht and thai bank account for 400k. So is depend on your need, some of my CM kakis apply in Singapore while most of us apply in Thai as we are aiming for the 5 year resident visa and eventually MAYBE we want to convert to Thai citizen to cash out our CPF in future if we really do not want to go back to live in Singapore.......actually now already we not get use to living in Singapore anymore
