Sign Phone Lines and Sell Phones

Hi all,

Would like some views from the experts here. A friend of mine recently contacted me and said that he needs my help. He wants me to sign up for phone lines and sell him the phone immediately after. I keep the line and pay for the plan. He says I can sign up to 15 across the 3 telcos.

Sounds like a good money-making opportunity? Am I missing something out here?

OK now he told me can just terminate and work out instalment plan with the telcos. Sounds fishy!

Hi TS, this scam has been going around for very long already

Basically u can get a iphone 6s+ 64gb and resell it for a small profit of 200+ to 300+ on a $42.90 a month plan

But over 24 months u pay 1029.60. Pls note the termination fee is also damn high.

This is OK for people with only 1 line and need to pay for a plan

How old are u this year, ur friend so nice want u to sign 15 line

Ah I understand your math, but isn't the iphone 6s 64gb selling for like $1,000 bucks on gumtree?! How come it'll only be 300?

U sell him 15iphones. Example give you $16.5k cash. Dude. Ur contract is 24 months. U need to pay $21.6k.

Yeah it's an equivalent of 15% annual interest or so. But that's even cheaper than a credit card loan of around 24%. I guess it works only for those who need cash.

But I just looked at starhub. To get a free iphone 6s is 220 a month. Not 60 a month. Not even close to being worth it!
