Dear brothers and sisters, 2 time married and 2 time honeymoon Shanmugam failed to solve Singapore - Indonesia diplomatic problem and now he wants to solve Iran Nuke problem. this is the work by our millions-dollars-minister-2-time-married K Shanmugam Shanmugam hopes for comprehensive accord on Iran’s nukes SINGAPORE – Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam, who is on an introductory visit to Iran, hopes that a comprehensive agreement over Iran’s nuclear programme can be reached. This would address the concerns of the international community regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, said Mr Shanmugam. Such an agreement, when achieved, would be in the interests of Iran, the wider Middle East region and the international community, he added. Mr Shanmugam said that Singapore recognised Iran’s right to peaceful uses of nuclear energy within the framework of its international obligations, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Mr Shanmugam met Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif yesterday (Feb 24) during which he was briefed on the recently concluded negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 in Vienna. P5 refers to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council including the United States, Russia, China, UK and France, while +1 refers to Germany. Both sides agreed on the framework for negotiating the comprehensive agreement over Iran’s nuclear programme. Mr Shanmugam was also briefed on the progress in the implementation of the interim Joint Plan of Action (JPA). He noted the important progress made under the JPA. The minister also called on President Hassan Rouhani and welcomed the improving relations between Iran and the international community under President Rouhani’s leadership. Mr Shanmugam noted that Iran, as a country with a long history and rich culture, had an important role to play in the region to promote peace and stability. Mr Shanmugam also called on the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ali Larijani. Both agreed that the Singapore-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group had served as an effective platform in maintaining people-to-people exchanges between parliamentarians from both sides. The minister also met the Mayor of Tehran Dr Mohammad Ghalibaf where they exchanged views on city and town planning. CHANNEL NEWSASIA Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
