Hotel 81 does not allow single person to book anymore???

I realise last night that Hotel 81 requires you and your partner both to produce ID when making short-time booking.

That means guys can no longer just book alone.

Anyone aware of this? Cannot be discreet for our partners anymore liao.

Single person still can book room...... I always do that when I need an afternoon nap and too far away from home.

just try 81 Rocher today, told the counter there the another partner will be here later then they give me the key to check in. After that they did not check another partner!

nope problem checking in alone . i also do that when i need to freshen up for a meeting . Nothing beats a quick shower , a hot coffee and 20 winks .

Yes all hotels now need two id now
But in geylang still can use one person id to booked room

Surely they cannot force you to produce 2 IDs if you tell them you are checking in alone ?

if you insist that you are checking in alone, the staff will allow, but they will tell you no visitor.

this is what happenned when I checked in K81 last month. the staff at K81, told me no visitor, unless I showed them my visitor ID. I went with my FB (msia WP holder). Finally i waited for my FB and we checked in together after showing my FB's ID. Show only, they did not take down any names.

H81 are upgrading their computer system now. Soon, they will scan the IDs, not just show them only.

Fragrance hotel at Lavender already started scanning both IDs into their system if I'm not mistaken...

H81 will probably start next year when their system is upgraded.

But if you did have a unregistered visitor to your room, they cannot do much right ? They can call your room, but u can just unplug the phone. I doubt they will do much more than that. These procedures are just to show the AV that they are doing their part, and to have plausible deniability.

In case of a AV raid and you are caught, the hotel can say that they have a process in place but you tricked them, so its not their fault.

Not really. This is a new government regulation governing transit rooms. So there is no way any transit hotel can say that they already tried their best to check but the FL slipped through...
