Guys, beware of girls who cry molest to scam you of money

Saw this article on Straits Times.

I think that guys should be careful this holiday season after reading The Straits Times' article on more people settling molest cases with money. It's so easy for women to scam men this way because their reputations are at stake.

The Straits Times reported today (Dec 24) that more men are settling molest cases with cash in order to avoid a criminal record, according to lawyers. They are also apparently paying larger sums to compound their cases.

We should be careful when as the our provisions in the law allow for minor offences such as simple molestation cases, wrongful restraint or causing hurt to be settled out of court. This happens only if the victim agrees to drop the matter in place of some form of compensation.

Any offer to compound the offence must also require the sanction of the judge.

I hope this would serve as a warning to unsuspecting bros here not to be scammed by con lady. Stay alert at all times.

1 the guy gots no monies?

this is very true. some years back while clubbing with my bro, he kana the same thing. the girl threathened us n wanted to call for police. I challenged her n while the police was at the scene, i managed to exposed her deeds.

I guess this has to do with the loophole of being abing to compound the matter by making 'settlement money' to the 'victim'.

The problem is even if there is no "settlement money" by law.. the girl still has upperhand. She can say if u want to settle out of court then pay if not go court. And we all know in such cases, 90 percent the guy would have lost the case before fighting cos the judge auto rule in favor of girl. So much for woman rights.

In the same article, it was mentioned that keeping a database of females who make such claims so that the system is not abuse.
