Saving of online streaming video (e.g. Youtube clips)
Hi Bros,
Have a bit of technical problems here. Usually after I have watched a online video clip (e.g. a Youtube clip on sexy ah-lian ), once the video is completely shown, it will also be in my temporary internet file folder. From there, I'll copy and paste the clip to my harddisk and watch it with a VLC player right. I have been doing that for past months without any problem. But starting from 2 weeks ago, i realised those clips i finished watching no longer exist in the temporary internet file folder anymore. The same thing happened to my previous PC as well. I will be saving online clips from the net this way, untill one fine day, the clips jus don't appear in my temporary internet file folder. Any idea what happened? It's something that puzzle me since it happened to my last PC, and now again... Thanks!

Re: Saving of online streaming video (e.g. Youtube clips)
One of the main reason could be that your Cache / Temporary Internet files folder is too small. You can enlarge that by doing following .. Open your IE, under Tools, click Internet Options, then General. Check your Browsing History setting, and change your disk space as necessary.
For information, YouTube have blocked many softwares that do directly downloading from its site lately.. it seem that they wanted viewers to spend more time viewing it online rather than doing direct download. You can do a search using google.. "youtube download" and check out some of these softwares available for direct download, some of which can convert the .flv format to .avi format at the same time.. Cheers and enjoy.. TheWatcher.. |

I still dun can't rely pin point the exact problem.. and it happened to both my PCs . Anyway today i tried watching a video from another online streaming site and after it's finished, i can see it in my TIF ... i suspect maybe it's certain site like Youtube do something to block their clips from being downloaded .. not sure thou

Bro, you can d/l the lastest realplayer and there will be an option to save any online vid. Once option is checked, the 'download' video tool bar will be available once you hover your cursor over it.
Saves you the hassle of going through your Temp internet files

The Firefox cache is usually hidden several levels down in the file system. For instance, on most computer it is at "C:\Documents and Settings\"my name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\"random characters".default\Cache". I can say that many brothers here probably will be using Firefox with its ease of usage and plenty of plugins for free download, and faster than IE.. For me, I use 4 browsers sometimes, Firefox, IE, Safari and Netscape and sometimes with 4 different proxies... Cheers.. TheWatcher |

Re: Saving of online streaming video (e.g. Youtube clips)
I had the same problem with you. Till i go get the "youtube downloader" program. YouTube Downloader - Software to download and convert YouTube video
i suspect it's there's a different directory after i make a switch from XP to vista. Admin access i presume. All this Vista "take ownerships" security modes. Spent hell lot of time reading just get some knowledge of navigating thru vista programs. |
