JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Dear Brothers,
I started this thread to share the bastard experience of having to be flagged down by Malaysian Traffic Police ONCE IMMEDIATELY after crossing the old customs earlier today when I was on my HC search. A gang of 6 of them are happily positioned after the turning left from the old Malaysian Custom. You can't even see them when approaching the old customs, turn and you will come FACE to FACE with them. I was asked to stop, asked the TP what's the problem and he said "No Safety Belt Sir..." then... "Open Summon? RM300 go police station to pay" Asked him "Got other way out?" innocently... He smiled and said "50 ringgit settle now..." With a long face, I said ok. Took out one of my precious brand new RM50 and wanted to pass to him... But he said... "No No... Not like that, Put under licence..." I folded the note under my licence and pass to him... Then he wayang went behind my car and pretend to take down vehicle number and passed me back my licence and I went on my way towards my HC target, NOW with my seatbelt on... Screwed up feeling and hunting for a hole to screw.... I believe there are lots of other experiences with these suckers as I see lots of them around since the new checkpoint is in operations so let's share them and not let them dampen our mood when we go bonking in JB. I am new to this interesting forum so will appreciate anyone up my points or powers if you find this useful. |

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
The TP will ambush you just befor the cars go onto the "F1" slopes. Do remeber that safety belts are a must. Front and back passengers. This is the latest law which they will be enforcing.Signal when cutting into lanes. Do not drive impatiently and recklessly. You will only be giving them a chance to "book" you. When a "fee" is agreed upon, please observe that a writ is not issued on the record books. If not, you will be paying for both "fee" and actual fine. Take care when driving in M'sia. Avoid such "encounters" so as not to ruin your cheonging mood....

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
No matter how good you engage yourself while entering the custom, they will surely find a way to find fault and request for "Under-Table".
Have seen a motorist being stopped (was directly infront of me) and was "fine" due to he did not TIGHTEN his chin-stripe....

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Helmet chin stripe must be tighten for safety..this is common sense. (RM 200 fine).Give chance is RM 10-20.
Safety belt rule applies to all cars travelling in Malaysia. Yes, they are there to "make a living". Let us not give them any reason to book us. If you are being unfairly booked..you can request to go to police station or even ask for the offical summons and report to M'sia embassy in SGP about wrongful summons. |

Re: JB Traffic Police, Customs, Fuel Check and Driving experiences
Bro, you are very lucky already to pay only $50rm.
These polis are like hungry animals especially to those who drive sg plate cars. i ever thought of use video to tape the whole incident with polis asking money, but later decided not to post on youtube. If I post, next time polis don't take bribe, I have to pay 300RM even more. so paying 50rm anytime better than pay 300rm we just have to be smart and not play too smart |
