Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Long holiday turns Vietnam tourist spots into garbage dumps
http://www.thanhniennews.com/society...mps-61811.html Hidden charm: Con Dao Islands buried under piles after piles of trash http://www.thanhniennews.com/travel/...ash-57711.html Terrible congestion as thousands leave Ho Chi Minh City for long weekend http://www.thanhniennews.com/society...end-61699.html I decided to postpone my trip after I realized the long Public holidays will cause huge traffic jam in the south...I remembered I was caught in a 2 hour delay when the bus queuing to board the ferry crossing from LX to Cho Moi An Giang a few years ago....one VB told me she was caught 2.5hrs jam crossing the river using ferry last Sunday, 1/5...

Labour Day holiday is the worst time to travel as it is also China's holiday. Chinese tourists will book up all the hotels around the region including Vietnam.

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
I was there once but it was about 10 years ago. It was clean then, no development yet. We could only find one restaurant on the whole island. And that one closed early. We were their only customers.
The area they mention mainly is by the airport and not a place many would go to the beach, but in the article it says all beaches there are like that, and if that's the case then obviously not worth a visit. if they get the problem solved, it's quite a naturally beautiful place, fun to drive around on motorbike. I remember we drove up one side road near the main beach/cove and drove up and up, suddenly popped out at the top in the middle of an army camp with soldiers everywhere. Oops. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
I just wrote this in PM to someone who intends to try website girls:
One main thing to do is have a FEW ready girls to contact in the same area, because there is always a chance that the girl who shows up is very disappointing, not like photo. I can't go ahead if I feel that disappointed at the start, so if it is a clear case of "not the same girl as in photo" or just not attractive enough, then I decline. I try to be nice and say Sorry, maybe make excuse I have to go. But my experience is that 70-80% of time, the girl is quite good looking. So if you decline that one, it's very likely the next one will be ok. If you do that, then send message from room because it is possible that next girl uses same hotel. (probably it's a different hotel though -- you see, that's another drawback of this, sometimes you pay for a room for no reason due to fake photo/subpar girl). But price of hotel is normally very small. Not a significant loss. Normal operating hours for girls is from 11 or 12 morning up to maybe 10pm night. Keep in mind that some ads might be a bit old and out of date, so a test call to see if the phone number is still working is good idea. Just ring once to see if it works. Sometimes you get no reply from a girl, even if phone number is working. Most likely reason: she is busy with a customer. Depending on your feeling, either WAIT about 15-20 minutes for her to reply, or move to #2 girl on your queue. Sometimes popular girls have enough customers trying to contact them that she may respond to which ever customer happens to send message at the moment she becomes free to check her phone. Not fair but that can happen. One girl I was very keen to meet, I kept trying to contact. One day, no reply. Next day, no reply. I tried different times of day. Maybe 4 times total over about 2 weeks. Then one day I was in that same area again by chance (errand) and thought I would try her one more time. REPLY. Address of hotel. That means it's a go. So I went and met her, that time very easy. I can only guess that the other times she just was busy with other customers. Persistence in this case paid off. Paid off double because I also met a very hot one in the elevator (coming out of room with other customer) and got her phone number for a future meeting. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
A friend of mine (he's visiting from overseas, used to live here) went into Blue Massage on Nguyen Thi Thap a couple nights ago. He opted for the VIP massage at 200. After his massage was underway, girl made offer for BJ but for 500. My understanding was that this place (and others on NTT) would do that for tip of about 200. Has anyone tried this particular place?
It was late night and we had been out together, then he decided he wanted to try a massage place, so I showed him this one. I helped him get set up with what he wanted. Then he went in, and I left. I did get to see a couple of the girls and they did seem quite attractive. He told me the one he got was also very attractive. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Quick check for those who tried website girls before. When you arrive at the hotel messaged by the girl, how do you book a room? Do you require a passport? How do you tell the reception that you only want to book for 1 hour?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM (Thread 3)
Yes go there and book a room. Easy. I just walk to the desk and hand them my passport. They give me a key. Often no words are spoken. Lately they always insist on passport, to me at least. Then you SMS her the room number as soon as reception gives you a key. The hotels are accustomed to renting for only one hour. That's the default. But to be certain, say "1 tieng" (pronouced MOAT TEENG). Actually if you go to a room with no luggage, they know what it's about. No need to specify because when you leave they will charge you for the time you were there.
