Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Bro, what i meant is that if you go cheong daily. I remember when i first went Vn some years ago, i cheong daily and the expenses was damm high also. But if you live a normal life, then its cheap to stay there. Like what Bro Sha Gua said, taxi rides cost more than food. But if really want to stay there for long, better to buy a motorbike, cheaper to travel around on bike

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Their KTV and pubs are actually cheaper than in Singapore. But the thing is that they don't really drink beer that much but they drink hard liquor like VSOP etc. So normally 1 night can spend a few hundred Singapore dollars with a few friends. These places accept both Vietnam Dong and US$. I normally bring 500,000 VND notes to these places as i do not want to have a bulk of vietnamese notes in my wallet.

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Questions about vn partner.
1) When your vn wife/gf come to Sillypore to stay with you (in your house), do they have a hard time adjusting to the Sillypore culture. Especially wife/gf who speaks little Chinese/English and poor and low educated. 2) Will your wife/gf complain about homesick and always want to go back vn to stay? 3) Does your wife work (not in JC or GL pubs). I mean get a proper job (be it as factory worker or kopi-soh in kopitiam ) or stay at home everyday. 4) Do your wife mentality changed to be same as a sillypore gal? 5) What is the most difficult things/situation your partner face? |

Re: Understanding Vietnamese Life Partner
Questions about vn partner.
1)When your vn wife/gf come to Sillypore to stay with you (in your house), do they have a hard time adjusting to the Sillypore culture. Especially wife/gf who speaks little Chinese/English and poor and low educated. Maybe my wife can speak quite some mandarin when she came to Singapore in 2005. I also explained to her a lot about singapore when we first got married in Saigon some years ago. My wife didn't have a hard time adjusting to Singapore, in fact, she feels much better being far away from her family which gives her lots of burden. Actually even till now, my family couldn't understand 100% of what my wife says. Sometimes i need to translate certain things my wife says to my family. 2)Will your wife/gf complain about homesick and always want to go back vn to stay? My wife did complain of homesick once in a long while. She did tell me before that she feels like going back to Saigon and province for 2 weeks, but its difficult as my kids are schooling here. Sometimes my wife also tells me that although she feels like going back to Vn for a few weeks, the thought of the burden her family gives her, she stop thinking of going back. 3)Does your wife work (not in JC or GL pubs). I mean get a proper job (be it as factory worker or kopi-soh in kopitiam ) or stay at home everyday. My wife wanted to go NTUC Fairprice to work as cashier, but i refused to. I want her to stay home to take care of kids. but i bring her out shopping a few times a week. I think she has been to most of the shopping malls in Singapore roi. 4)Do your wife mentality changed to be same as a sillypore gal? My wife is still the nice vietnamese gal that i know. She still treats me well and also treat my parents well. About shopping, she already has that habit since she was in Saigon. 5)What is the most difficult things/situation your partner face? The most difficult thing? I think the most difficult thing about singapore that my wife face is that she cannot have as many maid as she had in Saigon. In saigon, we have a handful of maids to help us to take care of kids and household chores. in Singapore, maids are expensive and bad. We had only one maid but that maid proved to be too lazy, so we sent her back. |

1. some men will take advantage of them as sporean men always hv the impression that all viet gals r WL. 2. mix with bad company, like become a gambler. 3. Once they work, they become more independent, and their voices will be louder and louder. 4. may become more materialistic, as they hv started to see more rich ppl. 5. hv affairs outside. these are some of problems that i thk may happen. if for me i will not allow my future viet wife to work. |
