Has been follow this thread for long, and also had my share of fun time in BKK. recent trip with friend to BKK. surprise to see him actually has a GF there.

He was trying to ask his GF not to work in MP any more from what I know. And I was surprise to heard from him that... just need 200k BHT to set up a coffee shop in BKK (that was what his GF told him, and his trying to help her to get out the MP trade). So cheap mah? Is less than SGD 10K. Shop rental, renovation, purchase of equipment and others... Hmmm...if true. I also want to set up man. 5 shops no problem!

What is your opinion?

Which area in BKK??? Sukhumvit(near shopping districts)/Rachada areas aren't that cheap...

And what do you mean by coffee shop? Sell drinks and food yourself or rent stalls out in the coffee shop?

In the outskirts of BKK, rental and labour costs are very cheap.

I had cafe latte in one of these shops in Phuket Town just few days ago. A very attractive middle age Thai lady ( she was my type ) was selling regular and specialty coffee and cookies in a small shop, about 20 seats, Thai customers. She obviously likes what she was doing.

I think it is doable for this amount of money. Profitability is the big ?

No idea which area man. Let say in Siam Square area & Sukhumvit area. I define their coffee shop like selling coffee, drinks + some snack kind lah.

After heard what my friend told me... If seriously that cheap or even it cost 500K bht. I also want to set up. profit wise... hmmm. how much man?

If u r referring to push cart, no problem Siam square is 1 of the prime area in BKK so use ass to think, also know it is not possible.

But do you have any idea how much will it cost? 1m Bht? or 50K SGD.

In SG to get a shop will be at least 100K i think. that is to say the renovation is very simple kind.

Bro, Siam Square/Siam Paragon/Central World Plaza/MBK area is the same as our orchard road hor...

Rental in these areas is probably the highest in BKK. It is probably in the region of THB 2,500 and above per sqm.

If you want to set up a coffee shop using just SGD 10K, my suggestion to you is to go further from the central BKK areas. There is no way you can set up a coffee shop with just SGD 10K in the areas you mentioned.
