Time for us to infiltrate the UNKNOWN/UNDISCOVERED Thais scene
Let me contribute a little bit with my humble report. Check out Shelter at Ram Inthra. See through glass building ala Glass Home. Music style is pop jazz. Very nice ambience. But the sound system needs to improve. Alot of feedback. Sorry I'm an audiophile.

Go further up Ram Inthra you'll hit Kaset Nawamin. Check out Yes! Indeed. Live band music style is pop hard rock. Next is Gotcha. I was surprised they have dancers and PRs in this place! You can buy them lady drinks just like the night clubs. Live band music style is pop rock. Memberships are available. Next again is The Immortal. Live band music style is pop rock.

There're many more such pub restaurants like The Pool if you go further up Kaset Nawamin. Haven't check it out yet. By the way I go to such restaurants for the ambience and entertainment. This is not your average Somboon or Yaowarat kind of restaurants. Strictly for the ambience and live music lovers.

Ok next up is my Chonburi excursion. Kekeke.

Never been to Bali in Ratchada before. Where is it anyway?

Those are much bigger venues than Baan Suan. KNN as if the land is very cheap.

Re: Bkk's "Local Thais" Scene

not sure if the "Bali in Ratchada" that was mentioned is "Balle in Ladprow".

Balle has a good crowd and the band/singers are quite good. Many of the lady patrons who go there to dine are good-looking, WL or non-WL, up to anyone's guess.

the environment is very nice as it is facing the chao phaya river. the decor is quite "balinese". have to book a seat outside to enjoy the view and its fairly windy. its separated into indoor and outdoor but most prefer outdoor.

foodwise its kind of fusion thai although they also serve western menu. a meal for 2 including beer can be about 1,200 THB. there is another seafood and korean bbq at the same location.

hope this helps.

Sounds like good ambience to me. A great place to warm up with a chick for later action in the late night .

What dishes would you recommend?

- visited Kao Sarn, Tom Yam Koong Restaurant on Friday. Nice food but wait long cos lotsa people.

1. Clubs/Pubs/Discos
- @Kao Sarn, Suzie Wong and Bangkok Bar (or Pub??).. more locals and some farangs. Didn't go to both places on Fri though cos lady friend prefer to hang out at farang pub.

3. FL Streetwalkers Areas
- Siam Hotel
Got mamasan there too helping to link up customers although I think they probably speak mostly Thai and probably just basic english. Mostly Thai patrons there... spotted some guys who look like s'poreans or HK though.. maybe some of the forumers here.. haha... took a walk outside and was approached by 1 mamasan asking me if I want "highschool" girl age 17... young.. but plain looking... some ladyboys outside too...
Appreciate the update.

Yeah Khaosan is quite a interesting place to check out. I dined at Silk Bar before. Food is ok. Not too bad.

Suzie Wong is like the Thai Ah Beng and Ah Lian hangout. Nonetheless very pack. Plays pop and hip hop songs. Depending on which clique you're going with. Check out Lava Club and The Club as well.

I like Molly Bar. No. 66 on the map. Bands doing unplugged Thai songs. Arhhh good old acoustic shit to chill to. Would be better if a girl is BBBJing me while indulging in the music.

The Siam Hotel OKT mamasan wears shorts and carries a tote bag right? Haha got jio me also. Got all sorts of nationalities also lah but mostly drunks. Haha.

Maybe one day we arrange to hook up for a drink with the BKK bros like ciakpachineng and some of my associates. What say you?

Yeah passed by Gullivers Tavern (Khaosan) before but did not step in. As I believe it resembles more or less like the one in Sukhumvit.
