Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)

Thanks Bro Seeyougal for the information. They booked Wild Orchard for me in Subic. I guess Subic would be the same as AC then. Will file an FR

a few more thoughts on subic

lot less bars than ac. not much more than 10-15 bars.

be careful of the baklas lady boys if you are not into that. there is a karaoke where they all hang out at and will try to grab you to go there. just be careful if you drink too much or you might go home with a surprise

there is a tiny little disco called bmax or vmax. like a little bar with like a tiny dance floor. nothing like high society but maybe if you are lucky 1-5 girls go there after work to hang out. you can try to talk to them and maybe they go home with you. depends on language and negotiating.

im guessing wild orchid has good food. but there is a place with a giant taco that is very good. good value. cant remember the name of the restaurant but ask the girls they should know.

if you want to save some money on food. there is a place called ricos. Filipino restaurant with Filipino prices. they have all you can eat buffets on the second floor.

also right now it might not be as hot but in summer it gets much hotter than angeles. talking to an american manager he said something about the geography and location of subic just makes it retain heat or something like that. feels like 110 degrees when I was there . needed to get slushy at 7/11 to cool off. which I recommend if you are not used to the heat. sometimes slushy provide much better relief than cheonging

I read on many forums it is NOT recommended to stay there unless you are Japanese as the owner is Japanese and cater mainly to their own people...... other nationality guests are treated differently.... ie zero service.

Thanks Bro Seeyougal for the info... My budget is on the high side as this is a company trip and I can charge all expenses including Entertaiment. My worry has been no cute gal... The sex part is bonus for me as I rarely go for those stuff unless she is very compelling.

i cant recall how much I paid per night but I think it was around 50 usd. so I wasn't expecting much. it is not a fancy resort or anything like that. just a place with good location to bring girls back to cheong.

no doubt you would get a better attitude from staff and maybe quicker response to requests if you were Japanese. but I wasn't treated poorly. its not like that staff is Japanese. staff is Filipino so they don't really care one way or another most likely.

the Japanese daughter of the owner is around the restaurant lobby sometimes and I guess if she knew Japanese guests were coming she would make an extra effort to accommodate. but I said hi when I saw her and she was cordial enough with me.

the reason I chose this hotel was that it had a beach and it was on the strip so I can walk to the bars when I feel like it without looking for a trike. I could have found things a little bit cheaper but felt the rooms were a bit less comfortable from the pictures or something a bit more expensive but further away from the action.

seemed like a good compromise to me.

Ah, that's a revelation ..

yes, they shouldn't care, but at too many places that cater to Japanese / Koreans, the staff learn to totally act like you are invisible .. in PH.

so, a high tipping non-jap / korean will still be at the bottom of the totem pole, versus non-tipping jap/korean ..

that's my 2 cents ..

even if they do prefer Korean and Japanese because they tip better most Filipinos cant tell the difference between a Chinese, Hong Kong, Singapore or Chinese Malaysian from a Korean or Japanese.

some girls think Chinese food is Japanese food .

in the end they see lighter yellow skin than them and think you have money and will treat you well. they only notice at the end when you tip a lot less hahaha but it will be too late for them

yah some girls might know a little Korean or Japanese in the philipinnes and that will spoil the ruse but its not common. also you guys probably speak English a lot better than Korean and Japanese and that is probably something they prefer.

The SCTEX is just an expressway which is seldom used due to the toll collection fees..... even prior to the collapse of a section of the bridge 95% of all vehicular traffic actually were using the old roads. So the collapse has not really affected travel between Subic and the other destinations including AC.

Btw, the time savings between using the SCTEX and using the main peripheral road is a mere 20 mins difference going by the speed limit of 70kph.

I guess you were there on a low season as usually the SBH is fully booked.... it has made the news several years ago and gained a reputation for canceling confirm bookings from other nationals to accommodate Japanese nationals. I believe it had something to do with an arrangement with the Japanese embassy that all Japanese travelers are encouraged to stay at the SBH and in return the SBH must accommodate them. It's business as usual during low season but come peak period then you can sense or even see the discrimination by obviously.

I was in there in april and booked through agoda. when does high season start in asia? for Japanese, Korean and Chinese? do they start at the same time or different? never really thought about it like that.

ngek .. SCTEX is what my 'driver' always uses, when he shuttles me from Baguio to Manila

speed limit was 100 plus
