It cost 28K for 2 years. With a diploma from Singapore, we jump straight to year 3 and complete in year 4.

In total, I spend 52K (with living expense) and use my last 3K to tour the continent before returning home.

I feel you, bro... I was once like you (when single), save at least 40% of my income. But then got married (which I regret) and have my own home (HDB). This 2 events nearly wipe out my saving.

Now with a basic of 6K, allowance for parents, 1 school going kid, a car (mass market model) and monthly household expense, saving is a pathetic 10% on a good month. No idea how the country expect us to have more children.

I hope I can be healthy and work till I suddenly drop dead (at home, at work or on the street). Then no need to burden my child.

actually I think both you and bro kokoruru did rather well. It takes quite a bit of discipline to save 40-50% of your salary leh. Agree on how hard it is to save with kid and household expenses sia. What to do.. somethings got to give. Hopefully the saving grace is that your HDB can have some capital gain, at least that will give some money if you can choose to downgrade your flat later on. But I have no idea how the common man can retire in peace.. knowing that CPF and general saving are probably not enough for retirement. Need to either invest darn well or like what some insurance guys will say.. buy insurance ( but then that cost more money further )

I'm early 40s this year, married with a kid. Didn't cheong for the past 5 years. Manage to save some since I was 25 years old.

Cash in bank = $163K
CPF = $400K (OA + SA + MA)
SRS = $28K
Stocks, PM, Funds = $40K
5Rm HDB worth $450K (fully paid)
Annual Salary (inclusive of bonus) = $140K
No car now and no debts.

Qualification = Degree

I'm in finance, I think give myself a few more years and I can hopefully push myself to senior analyst and prob take home between 6k to 8k if I get all my educations and experience correct.

Those who made it high up and take 10k plus a month.

Are you in sales, or higher management? Or in banking.
Just to satisfy my curiosity.

On a side note.. I think I have to give myself 3 to 5 years before I can successfully hit 100k to 200k savings after divesting my investment.

Not married, plan to marry in 2018.
Not going to have dinner, just honeymoon.
My wife to be isn't local, doing long distance now.
She's Indonesian uni grad, Chinese.

Once married hopefully all the things fall into place and she can get PR and then apply for HDB. I'll be 37 before I get my house

Maybe planning to have kids before 35 or 36...
Almost married the wrong lady this year.
Fell apart too late but I wouldn't trade it for the world Coz I met someone amazing after.
Just my sperm is gonna get old first LOL

Everyone achieve different results in life.
I knew a guy about 15 years ago. We both are not from rich familu.
He's a O level holder and a sales exec in a local company & I'm degree holder and a sales engineer in another.
Today, he is a GM in that company & I am a manager in mine.
He's staying in private, owns 3 cars and is a partner in 4 other business.
I am staying in HDB, 1 car and nothing else.

A lot in life depends on opportunity and hard work. But even if you are not as 'make-it' as your peers, don't take it too hard.

CPF = about $70K in OA

No car, no motorbike, no money to buy
