White shredding of skin on penis head

The white stuff found on your penis head is most probably fungus. This is due to poor personal hygene. Not washing your dick after sex or passing urine may be the cause.The best remedy is ro wash the affected part with a anti bacteria liquid soap like SAVLON and applying Hydrocotisone, like DEMOVATE. Most probably it will be clear in two to three days time.

I assume it is the glans (after you pull back foreskin to expose the bare head)that is shedding the skin? There possibly two reasons:
1) The white precipitate deposits called smega which is a natural lubrication secretion from the penis foreskin. Some people have more secretion than others and even after 1 day, it builds up. If you do not clean your penis by pulling back the foreskin often, the smega spreads to cover certain protion of your penis head and form a thin layer resembling skin. You will find it a bit more difficult to peel off the foreskin in this case...What you are peeling off is this thin layer. Clean it often and it is ok. As long as there is no bleeding and pain.

2) Fungal infection. In our humid climate, fungal infection is common because our crotch area can be damp. Fungal infection can cause skin peeling or dry skin by hardening the upper epidermis layer (keratinisation). They can crack and bleed. A visit to the GP and application of an anti fungal cream will solve it. To prevent further infection, avoid tight fitting underwear and keep to cotton. Wear baggier pants and use powder after airing your crotch after a bath. Walk around in the buff for a while or dry off completely using a soft absorbent towel.

Take heart, it is not very serious. If in doubt, go see a doctor.

IMHO there are only two possibilities for such symptoms if it is recurrent.
1. genital warts caused by HPV (human papilloma virus)
2. Fungal yeast infection.

For 1., some are asymptomatic or do not display symptoms of the virus other than just peeling of the skin. Why it peels or the shedding part is due to the fact the the virus cause extensive cell death at the dermis thus promoting localised overproduction of skin cells which subsequently push it up until the epidermis which shows as shedding skin. But some develop infection from it all the way down to the dermis section then produce blisters or inflammations which is the classic symptoms of HPV. Anyway, guys are luckier in a way becos they have lesser chances of getting adversely affected by HPV. And the good news is, just like the influenza virus, the body will be able to learn to combat HPV in due time. But nevertheless, also like the flu virus, there are hundereds of variants so being immune to one does not make you imuune to the other varients out there.

2. Fungal yeast infection lagi more common. And also very similar to the things you've described. So if it is, then well just air it often and keep it dry then it'll be ok. Or if you find it unbearble, just use anti fungal ointment, not cream(emulsifiers have substance that slows down cell response, i.e recovery unless you're just having dry skin.). miconozole doesn't really work too well, clotrimazole is more effective.

Hmmm... I had a bout of skin shedding too, usually a day after my glans rim gets red & inflamed. I noticed that I get it everytime after visiting WLs who use dubious brands of (cheap) condoms. The effect seemed almost immediate right after sex.
I then experimented with bringing my own regular 'Durex Performa' condoms (BYO!) & I never had the problem again... - so It could be down to material intolerance; or whatever chemical that they coat some condoms with.
Simple allergy I guess. Hope it's not anything more serious!

I had the same thing. After many years of going to skin doctors, the result always came back to some kind of allergic reaction to something and the result is eczema / dermatitis / fungal / yeast infections.

Hydrocortizone cream always cleared it up, but here is the problem. If you use this type of cream too often, it thins the skin, which then makes it more suseptible to other problems.

So anti fungal / anti yeast creams will work, just be frugal with their use. Wash carefully, some soaps can cause allergies (dove is the best) and keep it clean (some doctors say just use water, no soap). Condoms cause me problems (redness, rash etc) so choose one that works for you and take them with you.

I even pulled the foreskin back after a shower and use a hairdryer to dry the head so fungus is less likely to build up.

A non cortizone cream that works for me, is Ellidel, but it is expensive. I have had to stop using Dactarin and all the other cortixone creams (used for years) due to the skin becoming thin.

Always see your doctor for peace of mind. Hope this helps.
