Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Uefa are a shambles and/or corrupt
Anyways... RB Salzburg v Bayern Munich Sporting Lisbon v Manchester City Benfica v Ajax Chelsea v Lille Atletico Madrid v Manchester United Villarreal v Juventus Inter Milan v LIVERPOOL PSG v Real Madrid So we head back to the San Siro again. Could have been worse i guess? How did Chelsea draw Lille both times?! City get another easy tie. United happier but still could be a tricky tie? PSG and Madrid must be fuming though To me Ajax is the dark horse this season |

What a relief for At.Mad! They were drawn to Bayern earlier.

Inter is now coached by Inzaghi. As a player, his game revolves around beating the offside trap. Maybe his team plays in the same way too.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
If Inter is deemed a handful then we've got no business winning the CL.
Think Chelsea, B Munich, City and R Madrid are handfuls to play against and the ones to avoid for as long as possible this season. The last time we won it we had to play B Munich and Barca on our way and for that got an easier final, so y'know there's a silver lining to knocking out the better teams earlier. Tbh none of the Italian teams are a worry this season. Not saying that it is going to be a walk in the park against Inter but overall think we should have too much for them to handle over two legs. Also Inter's best player, Barella will not be available for at least the first game because he was red carded for punching R Madrid's Militao in their last CL group stage match. Big loss for Inter i should think. Oh yeah, Barca fans still waiting for their name to be called in the CL draw...could not resist putting that in Quote:

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
For the moment, they are top of Serie A. So we have to proceed with caution. Their squad consists of VVD's international team Stefan De Vrij, some EPL veterans like Alexis Sanchez and Edin Dzeko. I think Christian Eriksen has retired right?

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Perhaps, but if I gave you a selection of Inter, Lille, Sporting and Salzburg to choose from for our knock out stage last 16 tie which team would you pick?
Btw your other sentence sounds like ratboy's unsolicited advice to Klopp a couple of years ago Quote:
That said, Inter can be neutralized by high pressing and early recovery of the ball, but then I would like to see double the amount of shots taken, compared to what we see we nowadays. There is no real way to play through that defence (with the lowest amount of goals conceded in the entire Serie A). As an aside, last night's PL result at the Etihad was a bummer. Bielsa sticking to his 4-1-4-1 formation without Kalvin Phillips was pure madness and got the pasting he deserved. City now not only 4 points ahead but also pulled back their GD to within two of ours We need a good response on Thursday. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I think we will go for 3 points and not a high scoring game on Thursday. Klopp will want to manage the minutes as we head into the busiest part of the season. Once the points are secured, I think he will rest Mane/Salah to prevent injuries. Klopp also has to give Origi and Minamino games now. Otherwise, the two of them will be lacking in match fitness and match sharpness during the Afcon period.
I also want to see how Tyler performs for us in the EPL. Funny right? He plays more for us in the CL than in the EPL. The latest news for Afcon is European clubs are threatening not to release players as Afcon has yet to submit an acceptable covid protocol. See how this goes.
