As in Philippines (PI)? No, in LOS 'up to you' is like saying your choice or you decide. Mai pen rai is like never mind, example if you said sorry or messed up. Diff connotations, and my pasa thai is worse off than pre school

And as for your early morning flight at 0805, just do Mr T limo taxi for thb900. No choice rather than hanging on remote possibility of lift from hotel staff.

I was in a similar dilemma but I was lucky as there were a few staff from my hotel residing in BKK and they do the daily commute to work. At 5am the hotel driver gave me a lift as he was driving to BKK to pickup the morning shift staff.

I am booked at the Montien Pattaya hotel on beach road. Have manage to make arrangements with Mr T Taxi for the return trip.

Yes they do charge extra to go to Don Muang.
I was quoted Patts-SVB = 900baht, Patts-DM = 1200baht.
As I asked for pickup at 4.30am, there was extra midnite charge so my total fare from Patts to Don Muang is 1800baht. Expensive ride and lesson learnt never to book early return flight again.

Mr. T Taxi does not charge extra for early morning pick up. My friends were picked up at 2:30 a.m. last November. 900 Bahts to Suvarnabhoomi! Took less than 90 minutes.

Which Mr.T did you engage? The original Mr.T is Teung. He runs the taxi operation with his son.

The other Mr.T is Toom. He used to work for Teung and branched out to start his own taxi operations. His is a professionally run operation with a website, office and staff. If you had located them via website then most probably you have engaged Toom, who charges a higher rate.

I assume you are referring to Teung the original Mr.T.
His prices are not fixed. I have used the services of both the Mr.Ts and I find that Toom has a fixed price which is displayed in his office whereas Teung will quote you a price depending on whether you are a regular or newbie.

An example was I used Teung's transport to go to Bangkok from Walking street twice. On the first occasion he charged me 1,100 baht and on the 2nd occasion his son charged me 1,600 baht. When I had the opportunity to point this out to Teung later, he was kind enough to offset the difference from my trip to the airport.

That price is only for going to SUvarnabhoomi airport.
Going to Don Muang airport is 1200 Bahts.
Furthermore he does not have enough drivers for the midnite shift and needs to outsource the booking.

- TheHammers - I was also quoted 1600 bahts from Patts to Bkk as initially I had thought of spending a night in Bkk before my flight.
