I have a few noob questions:

1. Wouldn’t the ISP block TOR or dark web links? With or without VPN

2. A friend told me to use a spare computer (should be empty) so that if that computer is hacked, can just reformat and probably won’t compromise anything. True?

3. What’s really in the dark web if u have no interest with the dark/criminal stuff? I have no enemy that I want to hire someone to kill, I’m not interested with stealing your personal data, so what is there really? Porn? Isn’t there enough porn in normal www alr?

Well, based on what i had read:

1) the purpose of VPN is to mask your IP address so that it will not be possible or rather making it very very difficult to track your actual IP.
and if the IP cannot be track, than how can the ISP block you?

2) True, saw this suggestion also. this is just in case you forgot to turn on the VPN when you access the websites, and kana hack. But personally i cannot afford that
also, its hard to explain why you would buy a laptop or PC but not using it for anything else.

3) That's what i'm trying to find out. likewise, i have no intention to purchase a gun or get any drugs. As for porn, i know there is alot of child porn in there which is not available in typical www (no, i have no interest in that too) i want to know how extreme porn will get that is not able to be shown in they typical www. as mentioned, it is out of curiosity.

i have a Ubuntu system which use to surf and reformat/re-install once every now and then, so not too worried about it being hacked.

Actually this % theory I heard from a seminar also. They use iceberg theory. The normal internet is the ice berg top. The rest is below the sea level. Majority of the info is on closed networks. Like govt intranet or commercial companies intranet. They ride on www but behind closed walls. I vaguely rem dark web is just at the most bottom of the ice berg (that’s why dark and even more inaccessible). But the volume maybe not be big.

If one wants to venture to the dark side

1. Use a VPN
2. Set a virtual machine OR
3. Boot your computer from a usb drive (that has NOTHING else inside)
4. Use TOR browser


Darkweb is known as onion links, PM me if u wanna know more but NEVER EVER under ANY circumstances use any valid work computer with sensitive documents inside.

Once u go to the darkweb, you'll see many intrusions into your systems. A solid VPN helps that tremendously.

Dark web is usually slow and there are obviously a fuck ton of dodgy sites which are mostly paid anyway.

Drugs, weapons, hitmen for hire, paypal hacked accounts, cc hacked numbers, crypto wallets are aplenty and you can buy them if u dare. I know of someone bought something from darkweb before (a hdd) and it was delivered!

Child porn is there too but Fuck you if you're interested in that.
