Re: Lower Back Pain

Some good suggestions here. It's definitely a case of poor core muscles. Start with gentle daily ab exercises and back strengthening workout. Look up bookzz.org and download convict conditioning. great book esp the starter exercises for ab and back. Also go to a chiro. They will help to reset the curve in the spine. With some daily simple workout, it will help to strengthen the back and your body overall. And we can resume our favourite extra cirricular activities Cheers bro |

Re: Lower Back Pain
Hey bros! Thanks for the advices n suggestions.
I'm gonna try the hot water bottle thingy..and have been youtubing yoga stretches n exercises. Hopefully its just my weak core that causes this discomfort. If in the long run... still not improving, guess i will be doing MRI...suppose to give a clearer view of the nerves n stuff. For now... core exercises n stretches.. prolly can try chiro too. since they can re-align my spine. |

I hope you are getting some form of treatment instead of just relying on painkillers. Your body may one day "reject" the painkiller and you will need a stronger dosage until nothing works anymore. Take care. |

Back pain could be either spine/bone-nerve related or muscle related. If muscle related, hot water is the best treatment. If spine/bone-nerve related, don't waste time going Polyclinic, A&E or ortho specialists. They will at the end of the day suggest invasive surgery and put you on pain killers meanwhile! Pain killers are bad for your liver if used for long periods. In my case, I strained my back in Feb 2016 and appointment for ortho specialists was given for Sep 2016. I was supposed to be suffering and taking pain killers 6 Fxckin' months!!! That's how fxcked up health care system is now a days. The amazing thing was that after 5 or 6 visits to the chiro, I was able to walk upright again with very little discomfort . Hope you get well soon. |

In my earlier post, I mentioned hot water for muscular strains, what I meant was a hot water bottle, like some bros here mentioned. Again, some 15 years back I had pain on my side, I believe a muscle pull/strain. Went to Polyclinic, A&E at TTSH for CAT scan, etc., Indian traditional medicine, TCM, etc. It cost me more than $1K and nothing doing! Rested for 3 months and it slowly got better. With hindsight I should have used a hot water bottle and got better in a matter of weeks! My suggestions are based on experiences only, I am not a medically trained doctor. Watch this youtube video - . This doctor (hey they may not be recognized as doctors here but the have my utmost respect for what they do) is based in Australia. There are many other videos like this but this doctor practices the Gonstead way. Blessed are those with healing hands. Cheers |

Having said that, mainstream doctors have very limited treatment available other than pain killers for Cervical, Thoracic or Lumbar injuries. I am really happy that you are able to fully recover from your ordeal. |

Re: Lower Back Pain
Based on my own experience, rest is the best cure for back-ache.
I suffered a slip-disc 8 years ago. Tried all kind of cures; TCM, chiropractors, Ayurvedic and a hell lot of pain killers. In the end, just lying on a hard surface helped the best. No doubt it was very uncomfortable initially, but once you get used to it, it works miracles. Don't do any straineous activities for the next few days and just get enough rest. And do some stretching in the morning when you wake up. Cheers. |

Re: Lower Back Pain
I went to see a Chinese Tit Tat Sifu from Malaysia, who came to Singapore recently. His next trip is from May 11-14. Before anyone comment on this, I just have my spin realigned, and I don't feel any more pain. Before making any comments, please go to Facebook and look for "Wah Toh Tit Tar". Most of the patients who visit one of his 3 clinics in Malaysia (Cheras, Kepong, Puchong) basically need only 1 treatment. The complicated ones probably 2-3 treatments. They will be back from CNY after 6 Feb 2017. Sifu Christopher Leong is also an expert in Hapkuen-Do, founded by his late father Master Lawrence Leong. To me, the method applied is similar to Chiropatic, including realign muscle and veins which are the causes of most pain. To name a few problems that he can resolve - spurs, frozen arm, back injurys (due to accidents, etc), neck and collar bones, etc
