Re: Qingyuan Hotel's lobby
How to differentiate whether it is a authentic Qingyuan chicken
First of all, Qingyuan chicken is patented and a trademark. Not all chicken breeders nor sellers can anyhow claim it is a QY chicken that they are selling, legally, if those who are not authentic, may be faced with legal actions. However, apart from the legal aspects of it, how to tell if it is a original or just your mind playing tricks on you to say that it is absolutely a wonder piece of chicken that you are eating? All QY chickens are tagged from birth. And by the way, QY chicken refers to the breed of chicken named after the town, and not the name of the dish. There can be several different culinary methods of preparing the chicken, but normally, it is steam boiled. The best one I have tried is called the "1 Bucket of QingYuan Chicken", steam boiled with a little bit of soup base, extremely tasty and the meat is extremely tender!! Had that at (Cheng Shi Guang Chang) ???? , restuarant name is (Jin Lun Da Jiu Lou) ????? Another place that serves pretty good plain white QY chicken is at (Holyton Qingyuan Hotel) ?????? The chicken is not that big, quite small, but the meat texture is simply "mo tek ding" ???! It is bred until the weight reaches 3 kati (chinese pound), and at 3 kati, it will drop back to 2 kati, this is the time it is ready, the meat is at its most tender stage. A well known story about this QY chicken was, there was once (I forgot which) US president visited China and was having dinner, when he tasted the QY chicken, he asked what kind of chicken it is, why is it so tender etc. Obviously he was very impressed by the exquisite taste of it. Not know how to answer him, the aides and interpretors seeked Chairman Mao's opinion on how to answer, and Chairman Mao told them to tell Mr President that the chicken is the "fiancee". Immediately, Mr. President got the idea. |

Re: Qingyuan Hotel's lobby
Brother Condoms, so the photos are of models posing in QingYuan, right? They are therefore not station/located at the hotel, so how to get in touch with them or their manager?
I particularly like the one in blue with sweet innocent eyes. |

Wah lau. The gals in the pix damn chio. So far the best quality of gals I've encountered are from Shen Pao Luo (Shen Zhen Ter Qu) and Tian Shang Ren Jian (Shanghai Jia Ding). But these pic are certainly better.

There was also once when I was staying at Bao An District, went to this place called Her Zhuo Jiu Wei Village. Its something like Dong Guan's Huo Jie but minus the TN and salon. The gals literally stand along the road and man, they were really SYTs. I took a 19yo while my other business asscoiate took a 16yo and 18yo. The rates and RMB130 for ST and RMB400 for LT. Understood from the driver that this place is frequent by locals.

Most likely is probably patented and trademark in China, I am not sure if they patented it world wide or not. Whether it is patented in China or worldwide, the main issue is still how are they going to enforce their rights? We see lots of hawkers in SG claiming to be the authentic Hainanese Chicken rice anyway, but now, if I ever do come across any restuarants claiming to be authentic QY chicken outside QY, and if I'm in a mischievious mood, I'd probably question the cook about the rearing technique of the chicken to see if he knows or not, but even so, it doesn't prove anything as well. Unless you ask to check the tag, which I have not yet exercise this option on all the occassions that I ate the chicken. |

Dear Brothers, as far as getting the patent or copyright to use the recipe or name for QingYuan Chicken, I do not think it is possible or even practical to try. More importantly it is the way the live stock is reared and cooked that makes the difference. Even having the receipe does not guarantee delicious tastes; so best thing to do is to go down to QingYuan, eat the chick, get the girls and enjoy. I wonder if they have a good golf course there as well? |
